I am , and always have been,
a real FALL girl.
{Autumn Wreath will be part of our LES BELLES FLEURS ATELIER Fall Launch}
You, too?
While many of my California girlfriends mourn the last days of summer,
I can't wait for that crisp weather to hurry up and come!
Here at FrenchGardenHouse, I'm embracing all the warm, muted colors of fall.
I am changing out my pillow covers
for both the living room and the family room with these inexpensive covers.
They make such a beautiful seasonal change!
And they get along with our antique pillows.
I love how this one looks next to a dessert buffet which I set up on the antique French buffet
for a special dinner last year.
Above it is our t.v. - not so attractive - but I solved that by placing an antique paisley throw over it!
It doesn't really take much to set a seasonal tone at home
a few pillows, this Turkey Bucket {!} and a few other seasonal touches.
I've had our exclusive Turkey Bucket for several years, and each time I use it
I fall in love with it all over again! {I think there are just two left for this year.}
Colored leaves, that snap in the air, and the dreamy colors of fall just make my heart happy
and I want to celebrate every single thing about this season.
In the kitchen, I celebrate autumn each year by changing to more autumnal kitchen towels.
I restocked one of your favorite prints - the forest printed aprons and gloves, as well as the towels.
If you love this charming country print, grab these now because last year they sold out in just a few days.
Woodlands Apron & Oven Glove Hostess Set >
A huge customer favorite, the French linen chunky towels with stripes are wonderful in every season
but I especially really love their texture and country good looks in fall.
This is my kitchen in fall a few years ago, I'll mix it up this year a little
but it will look fairly much like this, except with a few different accents.

FGH Signature Designer Candle >
Autumn is the time to light all your candles!
I use candles year round here at home, but in autumn i bring them out in numbers.
I use the tapers at every dinner, and when serving a small dessert on a side table
in the living room, a few plates, a cake, and two of the tapers make this little spot a dessert station!
I joke that there is no spot in our home that doesn't look better with a candle
{but it's really true!}
Le Marron Long-burning Taper Gift Set >
I am beyond thrilled with this luxurious scented Potpourri!
This is so rich, it is an elegant scent,
it's sometimes called 5th Avenue potpourri by fashion designers
because many of the exclusive fashion houses on 5th avenue scent their showrooms with it.
On this little side table in the kitchen, I've filled an antique ironstone bowl with it
and it makes our kitchen and family room smell divine
of oranges, roses, and spice, perfect for autumn.
We sold out almost right away, but a new shipment just arrived
so for all of you who emailed and called about when it would be back in stock...it IS!
Potpourri > | Room Spray > | Refresher Oil >
I placed some in a crystal bowl in the entry too, and I adore the way
our home smells when I open the front door!
{I keep the room spray with the same scent in our new 18th century French Buffet des Corps
in the living room and sometimes I open those doors
just to smell how it scents the whole cabinet.}
Fall bouquets add so much to our home with those rich, deep colors.
The one above was from this Monday Morning Blooms
If it's a particularly busy or hot week and I haven't made it to the flower market
I use some of our new Les Belles Fleur autumn stems, like these Autumn Wine Velvet Bean Pod Stems.
Autumn Wine Velvet Bean Pods >
The photos don't do them justice, really, they are rich, velvety and such a deep merlot wine color....delcious!
Are you getting your home ready for autumn?
I'll be changing our decor here at home, and adding lots of French antiques to the shop
to help you find that one heart-stopping accent to make your home decor fresh and exciting for fall!
Looking forward to seeing you for our Monday Morning Blooms-

Alright I’m on board for Fall decor. I have been taking out my stuff and surveying my options to start decorating. My house is in l o v e with Fall and wears these colors so gracefully. The temperature is already heading into that season, guess you have to go with it. Summer sure passes quick, don’t blink! Love all the candles and am a fan of them year round also. Beautiful blog post as always Lidy! THANKS

Lidy, what gorgeous fall temptations! And what a brilliant idea to put the paisley antique textile over the television. What I can see on the vignette is beautiful!
Happy September and the promise of autumn pleasures!

I have been adding items I love for fall. I love using dried lavender and dried hydrangeas for the entire fall. I sprinkle pumpkins around now in October.
I burn candles constantly I love them. This year dried artichokes are playing in my home. Real dried acorns are a must in our home too.
I’m a cold weather girl. Always have been since I was young.
Enjoy getting ready.
Cindy
