Payment Policy

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Credit card payments may also be made by telephone. Please call us at (714) 454-3231 during business hours, Monday–Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time, California).

Checks and Money Orders

We accept checks and money orders on occasion with prior approval. Please call us before sending payment. Checks must clear prior to shipment, which may take up to 10 days. Items paid by check may be reserved for up to five days. As many pieces are one of a kind and may have multiple interested buyers, availability cannot be guaranteed beyond this period. For fastest processing and shipment, we recommend credit card payment. California residents are required to pay sales tax or provide a valid resale certificate.

Layaway

We understand that the right piece is often discovered before the timing is ideal. For your convenience, layaway is available on orders over $500. A 50% deposit secures your selection, with the balance due within 30 days. Please contact us by email prior to purchase to arrange layaway. Deposits are non-refundable, and orders not completed within the agreed timeframe will be released, with all payments retained.

Shipping

Each order is carefully prepared and packed in-house with attention to detail and safe presentation. Multiple-item orders may ship in separate packages. Shipments are sent via UPS or USPS Priority Mail, selected based on size and weight. Shipping and handling reflects the care involved in preparation, packaging, and delivery.

Shipping is calculated as follows:


  • $0 – $45.00 = $9.00

  • $45.01 – $65.00 = $12.00

  • $65.01 – $90.00 = $15.00

  • $90.01 – $125.00 = $18.00

  • $125.01 – $240.00 = $24.00

Important Shipping Information

For secure delivery, we are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes. A valid street address is required for all orders.

In case the shipper damages your item, please let us know immediately.

To make a successful damage claim:

  1. If your order includes Standard Delivery and you are not able to inspect the items completely before the delivery driver leaves, you have 48 hours to notify us.
  2. Take photos of the damage to the items AND also the packing materials.
  3. Email photos and a written description of the damage to us.
  4. Please keep all packaging to assist in the claim with the shipping company.
  5. Contact us to make FrenchGardenHouse aware of any special delivery requirements that must be taken for the item to reach the final destination.

Returns

Each one of our pieces is carefully selected for its individuality, age, and character. Returns must be requested within 7 days of delivery. We provide detailed photography and descriptions so you feel fully informed prior to purchase, and we are always happy to answer questions or provide additional images before you place your order.

Once approved, returns must be shipped back promptly in the same condition in which the item was originally received.

  • The customer is responsible for return packaging, shipping costs, and any applicable import duties
  • A 20% restocking fee applies *
  • Sale and discounted items are final sale and not eligible for return 
  • Any damage incurred during return transit is the customer’s responsibility
  • We do not offer exchanges

Please do not return an item to us at our Huntington Beach address without prior authorization, we will have to return your package to you at your cost.

Trade & Design Inquiries

We are pleased to extend preferred trade pricing to qualified designers, decorators, and industry professionals. Trade pricing is available upon request at 20% off retail pricing. To inquire, please email us with the following details:

  • Email
  • Valid resale certificate(s), where applicable

We also welcome supporting documentation such as membership in professional organizations including ASID, IIDA, AIA, IDS, CID, NKBA, APLD, and recognized staging or design associations. All trade approvals are reviewed individually to ensure proper qualification.
