WELCOME TO MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS.
Thank you for your visit...I hope you will be blessed by today's flower therapy. Whether you are savoring a cup of hot coffee or tea, or are enjoying a cool glass of sweet tea, I'm delighted you are here! My friends Pam, Mary, Shirley and I are featuring white flowers this time. White is lovely anytime of year, but especially refreshing in the hot weeks of summer. Be sure to visit each of my friends by clicking on their links at the end of this post. We live near the ocean in Southern California, and in the summer, it can get a little warm here at FrenchGardenHouse for big floral bouquets. Think petals dropping, flowers wilting, and an all around "way too much work" for beautiful summery days. We don't have air conditioning {we've never really needed it! - although the temperatures are getting warmer so we're thinking of it for the future.} In the summer, I often love very simple flower arrangements, with just a few flowers, snipped from the garden. You really don't need a flower shop filled with blooms to create an elegant simple white flower arrangement. For my white flower "arrangement" I snipped a few of Mr. FGH's precious iceberg roses {don't tell, he thinks his garden flowers should stay in the garden at all times!} and arranged them together with some bright greenery from the front garden in a collection of antique hand vases. This arrangement shows floral beauty doesn't need to be complicated. A favorite area in our master bedroom where the little arrangements add some fresh color. It's not a very big area, {although I have actually hosted a Christmas luncheon here!} and the perfect place to curl up with a book. The cabinet behind the chair with the bunny houses my collection of children's books for my little people. They love to go in there and select a few books, either to read themselves or have us read it to them. I think that these little arrangements balance the ornate gilding on the chairs, and the French Country style of my latest "keeper", this gorgeous antique wicker trunk. I'm not sure if this trunk will stay here in this exact spot, but for now it's very happy to serve as a table in this area. These antique Victorian hand vases are perfect for filling with flowers and brightening up this area. You can make an arrangement like this with small vases or bottles you have on hand. Even one flower per vase or bottle makes an impact. I try to incorporate little flower moments like this into areas here at home that can be improved by adding some green and pretty petals. Thank you so much for your visit! I hope you will be inspired to add at least one beautiful flower or even green thing from your garden to your home. It doesn't have to be big and bold every time. Sometimes a small touch of nature is just right to enliven your favorite room and remind you of the beauty of God's creation. Be sure to visit my friends by clicking their links below. Thank you for your lovely visit and comment, VERY sweet! I adore white flowers and I think I’m in your husbands camp of leaving flowers in the garden, but I love your simple vases, they still command attention! You just want to catch your eyes with an extra dash of beauty!

Happy Monday Lidy! Let’s start with those exquisite and charming vases!…LOVE and LOVE!….I think it is sweet that Mr FGH is attached to his Iceberg roses and doesn’t want them detached…They are the perfect flower for the vases.

Thanks so much for your visit, dear Rita. It IS one of the benefits of being a dealer, isn’t it? To be able to find something so wonderful, so wonderful that it becomes a keeper! xo hope you have a beautiful week, friend.

Thank you Pam! I love it when my little people sit in this spot, reading a book, or want to sit on my lap and have me read, too. It’s what makes my heart full, knowing they are so comfortable here and know they are so welcome. It’s always a joy to share our Monday Morning Blooms with you. xo

Good morning, Lidy. I adore the Victorian hand vases, they are perfect with Mr. FGH’ iceberg roses. I promise I won’t tell! One of the first things I noticed was the sweet bunny sitting in the chair, that so touches my grandmother heart. Keeping books in this beautiful space lets your “littles” know they are welcome. The juxtaposition of the rustic antique wicker trunk and the ornate gilded chairs is lovely! I am fond of mixing rustic with glam. The silver tray resting upon the trunk is also a gorgeous mix!
It is always a treat to share Monday Morning Blooms and floral inspiration with you. Wishing you a lovely day xoxo

Thank you Janet. It’s a rabbit that Mr. FGH’s mom knitted for one of our girls. There was a whole family at one time, he’s the lone survivor. I have him to sew his arm back on before he goes to our little Aleyda, being passed down from her older cousins. More than anything, it’s the real things in life that make our homes lovely, isn’t it? xo

I absolutely love the stuffed animal — mouse? — in the chair! It gives the entire arrangement a sense of whimsy and makes it even more inviting. And, the flower arrangement is very pretty.

Thank you Jenna! Wishing you a happy August too.

The individual vases {love the hands!} look so pretty arranged with books on your tray, and the white blooms are beautiful! The flowers are so simple yet add such an elegant yet whimsical touch…Happy August!

That’s an inviting spot, Lidy! The iceberg roses are so delicate (love the hand vases too!). I can understand Mr FGH’s dilemma with wanting the flowers to remain in the garden, but I’m glad you let your spirit to enjoy them indoors won out. Oh, the trappings of being a dealer and finding something so special as the trunk! That’s a perfect perch for the trays to service your reading (or tea, snacks, etc!). Happy August!

Good Morning Lidy! I love your pretty trio of arrangements and your collection of Victorian hand vases! That maidenhair fern foliage is so pretty and delicate to pair with your iceberg roses cut from your garden…your secret is safe with me. :) Your newly acquired wicker trunk is so handsome and I love it in your sitting area flanked by your gilded chairs! As always it’s a treat to join you for some flower therapy today. Happy August. <3

Your arrangements are beautiful, Lidy, and although one might think that white is bland or neutral compared to bright, lush flowers, I think they stand out in so many spaces. How nice you have fresh flowers to snip, even if it’s done in secret!
I’m doing the table centerpieces for my daughter’s baby shower next Saturday and she does not like anything bold and isn’t interested in anything fall-like, so I’m picking up some cues from you and the other ladies
I’m visiting. Thank you!??
