Decorating with White is always clean, fresh and elegant. Far from being boring an all White room can really bring antiques to the forefront, and truly make them shine! There are so many colors of White.

White is very forgiving. Really, you wonder? I’ve always had white or cream couches, even when the kids were small. Especially now with all the great furniture with washable slip covers, white is easy. I generally buy two slipcovers for my couches, so that I can throw one in the wash, and put the fresh one on at the same time. Painting your rooms a white color gives you a lovely blank slate, anything can go in that room. You just need to change the accessories to make it a total different look!

Grouping your collections together on white shelves or a white wall really unifies them. Even though there are a lot of items displayed in the photographs above, it looks clean, and not at all cluttered.

White mixes different period and styles of furniture into a cohesive and beautiful whole. I love these following two rooms, with antiques and modern pieces, it all looks wonderful, yet not at all cold. Whites can be quite cozy!

A touch of whites brings elegance to every display. Here, some simple antique glass bottles underneath an inexpensive cloche, an antique glove mold, and a glass candlestick make a beautiful display.

I would love to come home and have this foyer be the first thing I see! It is simple, yet truly highlights the beautiful dark woods of the floor, stairs and stair railing. A vintage bronze-and-glass bell pendant hangs above a 19th-century leather-topped table and gorgeous Tabriz rug.

In this dining room, a collection of antique Ironstone takes center stage. Simply displayed on a wooden rack, it is both graphic art, as well as easily accessible.

This sunny dining room is just stunning. I love the two black lanterns that truly punch up the space, and the antique table mixed with antique Gustavian chairs. The designer used the back side of a fabric to make the custom chair skirts. A trick I have used many times over the years, sometimes the back of a fabric is just perfect with its softer color palette.

Dark-walnut floors, gorgeous dark green soapstone counters, and black stools help ground this otherwise all white kitchen. I think that every room needs just a touch of black somewhere.

White unifies mis matched pieces. I love the mix of antique chairs around this table. Upholstered in white, or painted a soft white, they are so much more fun than a matching set!

White antique pieces mix happily with newer pieces and a few silver ones in the beautiful display.

In the bedroom, white and creams make for a very soothing, peaceful place to relax. Notice the many textures in this bedroom, smooth metal, woods, linens, knitted throw and wonderful dimensional pillow.

I love this all white bathroom! So clean. Just a few touches of black, and blue scattered throughout are just enough.

Do you love an all white color scheme? Or is bold color more what you adore? Let me know! I leave hearing from you. xo

I love white in pictures, but in real life, I’m always adding colour. But I love a white canvas on white to work from. These are gorgeous photos.
Hi Lorrie! I love a white canvas to work with, too. I usually tend to add red, lately turquoise for a pop of color. But in January especially, after the holidays, I love all white, so soothing.
I love an all white color scheme as well… and like Lorrie, I can’t help but add some color. Perhaps this spring I’ll finally redecorate a room in all white.
Beautiful, especially against dark wood floors!

Lana, I can only imagine how beautiful your rooms are. The one room at home here that is all white is our bedroom, with the white Belgian Linen Duvets, antique pillows and mostly white furniture. {A bedroom is actually a great choice for that one room in all white.}
I can’t tell you how much each of these photos spoke to me, Lidy! If you pop over to my blog, you can see how I’ve tried to incorporate an all creamy white home with loads of Jeanne d’Arc inspiration. It truly makes for a calm, serene, soothing home that not only brightens each room, but makes them look so much larger, too. ? If I were to do it again…..I’d go with a little bit whiter paint color, though. I kind of regret going with a creamy white. But it works and melds well with the wood trim (that hubby doesn’t want me to paint – agh!). lol! Thanks for these beautiful pics!

LOVELY! Make me want to REDECORATE my house!!
Hello! – Your blog and store are soooo beautiful! I covet so many things!
I love rooms with painted furniture and pale walls but I usually like to mix them with warm wood finishes as well. A jumble of treasures has always appealed to me! I think it’s cozy. Your photographs are beautiful though!
