WELCOME TO FLORAL FRIDAY!
I hope you will love what Mary, Pam, Shirley and I have prepared for you - fellow flower lovers - today. I will give you my friend's links at the bottom of the page...I have had "sneak peeks" of their flowers, and they are so. very. beautiful. Here at FrenchGardenHouse, I'm slowly adding touches of Fall in anticipation of the upcoming cooler weather. Adding fall colors to our floral bouquets at home is a subtle way to bring autumn to our home. Changing a few things around, and changing the accent colors is so energizing, it really revs up my "crazy about autumn" mood. This bouquet is a combination of cream roses, rust-gold mums, magnolia stems, eucalyptus, bright green "coffee" berries and red alstroemeria. Displayed in this antique French cast iron urn in cream, it sings summer's last notes while embracing the deeper tones of autumn. I set the table for a family dinner, with antique French ironstone, hotel silver, and this glorious country tablecloth and napkins we just received in the shop. The table setting is a little wild for me, with lots going on in a mix of patterns and colors, but I have to say j'adore! This tablecloth is unequalled for a transition from summer to fall, isn't it? Bright French Country Red, flowers found along side country roads, and a subtle touch of wheat. Perfect, no? If I could have found some wheat to add to the flowers, I would have! I used our new taper candles in rich chocolate "Le Marron" {chestnut} in old brass candlesticks, there is something magical about the combination of chocolate brown and red and gold. Candles add the most flattering light you can have in any room in your home, their soft flickering glow adds a warm, welcoming feeling. I used vintage French curtain rings for a napkin ring, and place card all in one. This is such a beautiful season we are entering. A season for cozying up our homes, and sharing our table with people we love. Set your table with the gorgeous colors of this season, and create an easy floral bouquet for autumn to place in the center of it.Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Thank you Rita, I love that rich, French feeling too….I haven’t been able to get much magnolia before, but I love it!!

Oh Lidy, this is so richly French to me! The reds and yellows of the textiles just sing of fall, and the flowers just lovely. I think magnolia elevates any floral setting, and I just love how its stems last so long. Beautiful!

I have just gotten rid of the red in my living room and repainted my red foyer, only to be inspired by your beautiful tablesetting and flowers to bring it all back. I love the colors of Fall and can’t wait to bring those touches into my house. But we’re hoping mostly for cooler temperatures.

Lidy, I’m wowed by your wonderful French country tablecloth in all its red floral glory. It sets the tone beautifully for your artfully arranged floral in in your urn. Your use of the vintage French curtain rings as a napkin ring and placecard holder is brilliant!
As always it’s a joy to join for Floral Fridays. Happy Weekend, xo Mary

I agree, Cindy, those deep luscious colors of the French countryside are always joyful to use! Thank you, I hope you enjoy your weekend, too!

I love the colors you chose for your table. I love French decor and for some reason most choose the farmhouse end with color.
I love cir and using deep colors I imagine seeing in the French countryside. Colors in the earth and nature.
I don’t mind muted tones but when I see pictures the countryside is filled with color. I bring that indoors.
In no way do I think I am a pro, just my opinion .
Beautiful as always, Lidy. Love your arrangements.
Enjoy your weekend
Cindy

Your table is lovely Lidy, the red is totally unexpected for fall but the flowers and elements you’ve paired it with makes it say “this is a fall celebration!” The cream roses were also an unexpected surprise but they add a wonderful contrast to the other textures in the arrangement and add a touch of elegance plus a rest for the eyes with so much going on in this setting. This is so gorgeous, and I do hope you enjoy a festive fall meal here with your family! Thank you for another fabulous Floral Friday!

Lidy, what a beautiful setting! The rich and vibrant tablecloth sets the stage for welcoming autumn. Your mix of flowers in the French urn are the perfect colors to transition from summer into fall. The antique ironstone juxtaposed with the linens truly is magical. I am one who loves the mixing of patterns. What a delight it would be to sit at your stunning table and enjoy food and conversation. I love sharing Floral Friday with you??

I would say that you are ready to usher in the fabulous season of Fall with that gorgeous table setting with so many exquisite things that adorn it. I so love when you use such beautiful antique containers to use for your arrangements. You have to looking out for such beautiful floral vessels. The table linens sing the song of Summer and Fall with the vivid colors of both seasons. What a great idea to use the antique drapery ring for a napkin and place card holder. I have a bag full of them (somewhere in the storage abyss) and I cannot wait to use them on a future table! Again, it is so wonderful to share Floral Friday with you, Mary and Pam. My favorite Fridays. You all bring me such joy and I can always know that when your posts pop in my email, I know that I am in for a dose of “Happy!” …. Have a great day and weekend Lidy!!!
