Monday Morning Magic: Friendship, Antiques, and Blooms

There are few things as soul-satisfying as sharing a beautiful space with a cherished friend. And when that space happens to be your own garden, adorned with personal touches, antiques and fresh blooms, it's pure magic. Monday Morning Magic: Friendship, Antiques, and Blooms.

Welcome to Monday Morning Blooms!

This month Pam, Mary and I are so excited to join our good friend Rita of Panoply. You will find the links for all my flower friends at the bottom of this post.

Our common theme is 'garden' and I can't wait to see all that their gardens and floral arrangements have to offer, I know they will each be beautiful!

Out in the garden, our magnificent Eden rose is in full, glorious bloom. Its creamy white petals, blushed with soft pink, cascade over the weathered archway, creating a fragrant, living canopy.

Beneath this floral masterpiece is the perfect place to set a small French bistro table,  laden with treasures from times past, to share with a friend in the early afternoon sun.

This month's Monday Morning Blooms arrangement is a true showstopper, presented in a simple antique French canning jar.

The arrangement itself is a symphony of textures and colors: a few soft pink roses and small lavender spray roses, nestled amongst delicate two-toned chrysanthemums, bright pink dianthus, sprigs of purple trachelium, punctuated by the cheerful pop of bright pink gerberas and the graceful Queen Anne's Lace.

Each bloom, freshly cut from the garden in the early morning, seemed to whisper tales of the morning dew. Just for fun I added a few left over wax flowers from an old bouquet, and some flower stalks {bloomed out} from my favorite Coral Bells plant.

I invited a friend over for some iced tea, a simple summer salad, and a few little sweet treats - macarons and blueberries. Nothing fancy, just a little refreshment that I already had and could easily put together.

This isn't just about sharing a few glasses of iced tea and lettuce leaves with a friend; it's about creating a little ritual of beauty and tranquility in the midst of everyday life.

It's about taking the time to appreciate the small wonders that surround us, whether it’s the intricate detail of an antique goblet or plate or the breathtaking beauty of a blooming rose.

For the table, I layered it first with my favorite blue linen tablecloth, and topped it with an antique lace table topper. The napkins are the same gorgeous navy blue linen.

The flow blue plates, antique silver pieces and gold rimmed goblets add just the right opulent touch!

The antiques with their stories from the past perfectly harmonize with the outdoor setting, creating an atmosphere that is both comforting and inspiring.

There's something truly magical about sharing your garden with a dear friend. Especially when that shared moment unfolds around a table steeped in history, adorned with the ephemeral beauty of fresh flowers in all their summer glory.

"Our surroundings can deeply enrich our interactions and elevate simple moments into cherished memories." - quoted by me many times over, and something I really believe to be true.

I encourage you, if you have a garden, or even just a balcony, to try and create your own little haven. You don't need an Eden rose (though they are highly recommended!). Just a few thoughtful touches, a beloved antique or two, and a fresh sprig from your garden can transform an ordinary afternoon into an extraordinary memory.

This was a beautiful reminder that joy often lies in the simplest of pleasures: good company, a beautiful setting, and a moment to pause and appreciate the world around you.

There's a certain tranquility that washes over you when you're immersed in nature, especially when you've curated a space that reflects your own aesthetic and brings you peace.

Do you have a favorite garden spot you love to share?

Or perhaps a beloved antique that brings a special touch to your home or garden? I'd love to hear about your own perfect pairings!

Be sure to visit my friends for their stunning floral inspiration!

Happy June!

Oh, Lidy, I felt like I was swept away to France. Such a lovely spot to be in your garden full of roses. Your table is quite stunning but your centerpiece is the show stopper. I also am enjoying your flow blue plates. They are priceless.

Thank you for inviting us into your garden. Happy June!

Thank you Ricki! Being European, we’ve always taken time for tea in the afternoon…it is like a little ‘rest’ in the busyness of the day. I hope you will enjoy many reflective moments with your beautiful cup of tea!

What a pretty setting, and I love the roses in the background! Navy blue makes a soothing backdrop for all the floral beauties on your table. My Bible study this week introduces us to the ritual of tea, and how it can be important and grounding to set aside time every afternoon for tea and reflection. I would love to do just that at your lovely table!

Good morning, Lidy. As always, you have created a lovely space within your garden for antiques and fresh blooms! The Eden Rose cascading over the archway is a gorgeous backdrop for your French bistro table for two. I love your symphony of textures and colors…pink roses, lavender spray roses, pink gerberas, and old fashioned Queen Anne’s lace! I can’t resist a glass of iced tea, known as the table wine of the South. The antique lace topper is stunning paired with the navy cloth and napkins. Flow blue plates, antique silver pieces, and gold rimmed goblets add elegance to your outdoor setting.

I love sharing Monday Mornimg Blooms and flower therapy with you each month. Happy June, dear friend!

Lidy! Boy, you aren’t kidding when you speak of the magic a garden can deliver, and sharing the love of antiques and friendship – the trifecta of a good, good life! And showstopper it is – that bouquet is simply spectacular! The Eden rose and Sarah Berhardt peony could be twins with their fluffy texture. I am in awe that all these blooms are from your garden. Please tell Mr FGH that he is truly a master of gardening with his choice of colors, textures and bloom timing. I think those coral bells bloom stalks are such a dramatic addition too. Of course, I always take notice of your gorgeous antiques. The flow blue are stunning as paired with the classic navy and white overlay. So beautiful! Thank you for sharing your intimate gathering and invitation to this special-to-me garden edition of Monday Morning Blooms. I’m off to water & fertilize my own garden blooms now!

Happy June Lidy! Your Eden Rose is a stunner…swoon! What a treat to have a seat at a table near the arching branches and beautiful blooms. Such a pretty bouquet filled with your assortment of blooms in your antique canning jar too. Those flow blue plates are such gorgeous heirlooms, isn’t it amazing they’ve survived the test of time? What a treat to have them to grace your table. As always, it’s a treat to join you for some flower therapy. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.💗
