Exceptional desirable Victorian Aesthetic Transferware Plates transfer printed in dark brown with the rare to find and beloved Victoria pattern. Made by J.F. Wileman of Foley Potteries, Tunstall, Staffordshire, England in the 1880's. The floral Victoria design features oversized ruffled hydrangeas with beautiful small leaves on the branches. A decorative diagonal geometric design on one side for true aesthetic design, but what makes this desig truly exquisite is the inset with a bird.
This pattern displays all the love the Victorians had for nature. These were no doubt loved in the late 1800's in the home of the family they belonged to. In good condition for their age, their is craquelure as would be expected. Gorgeous! These plates are a little larger than most from the 19th century, making them perfect dinner plates. An heirloom addition to your collection.
