WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR PALETTE FOR SPRING?February 17, 2017
Julie, I love, love, love lilacs! They are only available for a short time, but when they are, I fill up our home too. They are beautiful to look at and then there is that smell, heavenly.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend!

I have seen the little weed shoots coming up in the garden, so I know the crocus, and daffodils can’t be far behind.;) My favorite “rite of spring” is to fill my home with the scent of lilacs, even if only for a day or two.
By the way, Lidy, I heart the small cafe au lait bowl. So sweet.

Oh, that wreath is so pretty! It screams SPRING! It’s very dreary here…I truly need a pick-me-up!

I’m loving the soft pinks, but here on Long Island N.Y it will be a while yet before we see any green…..ugh….oh well I’m going to start bring out my bunnies to cheer me up……
Smiles~~

My spring color palette is fresh greens.
They pop in my neutral decor.

Susan, blue bells!! In France…what could be more beautiful than spring awakening in your darling village? Can’t wait.
February 16, 2017
Lovely yellow daffodils announce that spring has arrived. They bring energy and enthusiasm for us to enjoy each day to the fullest. Thank you for the inspiration.

You’ve made me want spring even more. We have had a taste of it this week here in SW France, basking in warm sunshine of 20C and now I am getting greedy, I don’t want just a nibble I want it all! I can’t wait, we have daffodils in flower and beautiful tiny purple violets, the first blossom has appeared on trees and the bluebells are now several inches out of the ground but I think it will be at least another month before they flower. It’s such a fabulous time of year filled with so much hope. I am definitely a spring/summer girl!

What a beautiful inspiration board! Even though it is only mid February, here in Alabama we already have spring blossoming. New leaves, lady banks roses, and bulbs testifying to new life.
February 16, 2017
We are still covered with snow here in Canada. So thank you for your beautiful spring post, it brings me hope!

Joyce, that all sounds beautiful, and knowing you like I do, I know those soft, whisper pale colors are your favorite! Icy blue…gorgeous! And your quilting is so lovely.
The lady finger cake IS faux….if I were to have an actual cake for the photos every time, I’d eat it! Since it’s mostly just the two of us at home now, I only buy “real” desserts for the photoshoots when I know friends or family are soon to arrive…it’s better for me that way! ;)

Carole, isn’t that sweet, “new” green just so lovely?
Thank you for taking the time to comment! I hope you are having a beautiful week,
February 16, 2017
Ahh, Lidy….my spirit yearns for more white, white, white, with shallow breaths of the soft pinks reflected in your Coalport cup and saucer, the Antique Biscuit Jar, and the real or faux lady finger rimmed confection surrounded by dusty pink ribbon and roses—a treat for the tummy as well as the eye! And,perhaps, a whisper of pale icy, blue sparingly added. My spirit is also contemplating hand pieced quilts in this colorway…well, maybe throws…small ones. The spirit is willing…but the body and time don’t always cooperate. Truly is an inspiring post..Thank you.

Cynthia, ALL of those are my favorites! I especially love muscati, as they always remind me of my childhood in Europe,
it’s not often that I can get those in California.
February 16, 2017
Bebe, thank you for your kindest comments….spring pastels are such a treat after winter, aren’t they?
February 16, 2017
Wrenda, I hate when our plants get confused! Right now we are having chilly rainy weather for once {which is needed} in California, and I am looking forward to spring flowers and planting some pretty new plants for spring. But there have been plenty of years where summer temps early in the year made everything bloom way too early. Hope you are having a happy Thursday!
February 16, 2017
Such beauty for Spring inspiration! The antique biscuit jar and botanical Orchid prints are my favorites in your line-up. Here in North Texas, the poor plantings are so confused. We have been having such Spring-like weather; then again this morning it is 38 degrees. The jonquils seem happy!
February 16, 2017
Gloria, that sounds so lovely! I love this : :to see what plant has been told Spring is on the way “wake up”….I love looking in the gardens to see what is popping up at this time of year too!
February 16, 2017
Ginger, that IS warm for February! Here in California we have been getting much needed rain, although in true Californian style, it’s pouring, instead of raining. Ugh on the April weed wacker! Let’s enjoy flowers inside for now then.
February 16, 2017
Alice, good luck! I love fine quality Coalport, hoping you find some other pieces in the pattern. Many of the truly old pieces are getting quite rare to find, but you never know!
February 16, 2017
I love Coalport anything and the tea cup is outstanding. I have a few pieces I cherish. One piece is a covered serving dish I found long ago in an antique store. Have looked for other pieces in that pattern with no luck. Oh well, the joy of searching continues.

The yellow and white daffodils are just outside my window in North Carolina. I check everyday to see what plant has been told Spring is on the way “wake up”. Seeing your inspiration colors tell me it time to go out in my yard and start looking at what is popping up. What a time of renewal. Your trays and wreaths help brighten any day.
February 16, 2017
Lidy, you have such beautiful things. I am swooning over the tole tray and pretty rose wreath. I hope that you enjoy your day!!!
February 16, 2017
Spring is my favorite time of the year. Thanks for sharing all your "prettiest "….what you say is true…spring is coming!,,,

The Paris spring roses wreath is so pretty. We’ve been in the eighties in San Antonio, but we’re not fooled. Last year it hailed mid April. It looked like a giant weed whacker had come from nowhere. I don’t dare plant beauties outside yet. But a pretty wreath or lovely floral.toleware tray sure would help while I’m inside with the air conditioner on in February.

My very favorite colors are all the spring pastels especially the pinks. I swoon when I see them and smell them at the same time.

Thank you for the spring inspiration post. I soooo love your sweet rose wreath, it was singing my name.
Just want you to know, you inspire me with every post to your blog.

We’ve got 12 inches of snow here in upstate New York, so it will be a few months before we see spring, but I love the pale greens of the willows as they leaf out. My favourites are the deep blues of the hyacinth and muscati, mixed in with the yellow jonquils, purple crocus and pink fritillaria.
February 16, 2017
Leaving for Italy next month. I hope to see lots of lovely flowers and vines in bloom. Last year we were treated to the blue, purple hues of the lilac bushes as well as the wisteria. Not something we see here in South Florida.
February 16, 2017
In Central VA we are just beginning to see patches of fragile, bright green in our lawns. For me, that means spring is coming soon.
February 16, 2017
I love Spring!
February 16, 2017
I agree!! And since we’ve had virtually no winter at all here in No. Georgia we are lost in a sea of yellow right now. Even our azaleas are beginning to open! April is usually their month to show off! I’m thoroughly enjoying it but worry about what may in store for us ahead . . . March can be a beast!
February 16, 2017
Have you noticed how nature’s colors in spring evolve? Yellow seems to come first, with daffodils and forsythia. Then pinks and lilacs with hyacinth and irises and lilacs.
Then bolder colors with tulips.
I love them all.

Oh, this post is truly inspirational for me. I’ve been dreaming about pastels for several weeks and would love to change the textiles in our sitting room from their dark colors to pale green, pink and blue. Maybe a touch of the palest yellow. Very much like the tole tray. I love what you’ve shown here. You have a beautiful blog.
