The Autumn at Home Collection

As summer slips away and fall breezes in, welcome the season with gifts and home decor that bring cozy...inside! I love this time when we get our homes ready for cozy, crisp days, don't you? It seems like it's never been more important than this year. Welcome to the our Autumn at Home Collection, the New Autumn Gift Collection. Here is a small preview of this year's collection. I fell in love with these soft lambswool blankets in England, and am so excited to be able to offer them to you. They are perfectly wonderful, heirloom quality, and made by a mill in Yorkshire that has been producing high luxury quality woolens since 1837. {They are the same mill that produce wool for Benneton and Ralph Lauren.} Here at home, I have draped one on the sofa to use when reading or sitting by the fire this fall. I chose gorgeous, autumnal colors, rich mustard gold, and a plum heather mixed with neutrals that will give you all the warm and cozy feelings. Often, when I find a product I love, I find that they are made by the nicest people who also just happen to create beautiful products. A Dutch entrepreneur who lives in Paris is just that sort of creator. I will introduce you to him and his French beeswax candle business later on the blog. This fall, I am adding luxury beeswax candles to our candle collection....wait until you see, use, and smell them! They are divine! Fall, especially this one, has me wanting the warming, comforting glow of plenty of candles here at home. I'll be using both our own signature FrenchGardenHouse scented candles, as well as the beautiful beeswax and unscented tapers to light at dusk. One of the most requested items you ask for to give as hostess gifts, or any other kind of gift, is products made with French organic lavender. These large lavender sachets are sourced from antique French ticking fabric, and filled with French organic lavender. Sewn in a home studio just for us by a European sewist, in limited amounts. Great as a gift, wonderful to pile in an antique bowl on your table, and of course, to scent your linen armoire. Our Limited Edition French Country Hare Wall Plaque was such a favorite with you all, that I asked artist R. King to create autumn wall plaques exclusively for you! The Deer and Turkey plaques are so charming! Made of solid wood, and then decoupaged by the artist and hand finished with 12 layers, these can hang on the wall, lean on shelf, or display them on a lucite stand like I do here on my living room mantel. They are a very limited edition, signed by the artist. One of the things so many of you asked me to bring back for this season's collection is the French wired ribbons. I found some beautiful ones, and also a few without that wired edge that you will love for embellishing wreaths, tassels for your armoire, and wrapping gifts. Tie some on your wine or champagne bottles for seasonal splendor, too! This one that looks like French silk but isn't is a favorite...the rich green color reminds me of my family's woods where I grew up as a little girl in Europe. There are a few more that are a little late to the party, I will add those when they have arrived. Our fall tags are not just for gifts! Reproduced and printed just for us {you} from antique prints in our own collection, they are oversized, and printed on linen textured card stock. Use them for tags, tie around napkins, a bottle of wine you are giving or just having yourself to decorate for autumn! There are three different tags for fall, two of those come with a roll of beautiful satin ribbon for gift wrapping. I brought back a few personal favorites again this year, in limited quantities. Taper candles with gift matches, a "go to" host or hostess gift. Luxurious and thicker cashmere wraps to take off the chill, and look stylish while doing so! A few bags made from antique grain sacks with bridle leather straps, and other bags sewn from linen to carry to market, or use as an oversized bag. The Autumn at Home Collection is filled with gifts both large and small to delight the people you love, and to celebrate autumn at home.
