Lidy, your autumn floral arrangement has my heart singing! It is absolutely gorgeous with those rich jewel tones. The entire vignette is beautiful. I’m swooning over that pretty French armoire. I hope you are having a wonderful week, sweet friend!

Jenna, thank you for your visit! I love the fountain grasses too…they add a little fun and fuzzy everywhere they go!

Thank you Alice! It was William Morris, a British textile designer, poet, novelist, translator, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts Movement. He lived from March, 1834 – October,1896. " Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."

Thanks so much for your visit, Jackie. And thank you too, for your kind compliment about the floral arrangement (the flowers do all the work!)
I am not sure about these, but I do know that “dinner plate dahlia’s” grow to be quite tall!

Your flower arrangements are just beautiful, I have zinnias and dahlia’s blooming, but I cannot find the taller dahlias to plant, mine are full of blooms but they are short. They are a perennial aren’t they?
Love all your posts

Beautiful Lidy. Your flower arrangement would make a perfect oil painting. And I love the mustard caddy. Thinking seriously of painting mine mustard. Your ad in Southern Home is award worthy. We are trying to get rid of things that we feel others can use that we no longer love. What designer said to have nothing you feel is not beautiful or something like that.

Love the dahlias, love the figs, over the moon for those napkins!

Oh, it sounds magical Rita! I am enjoying a foreseeable forecast of fall, too! Hope your week is starting off to a fabulous beginning!

So quintessentially and authentically French, just like you, Lidy! This so appeals to me! Those jewel tone florals are so right now, and the bucket you’ve styled them in, the figs, the entire table…..{sigh}. On one of our walk paths there are a couple of fig trees that I am closely watching to nab a few when ripe in just a couple more weeks, I think. Meanwhile, I have started making a few styling changes here in the loft, with faux fruits and some jewel-toned majolica. We’re enjoying a foreseeable forecast of lower than daytime 90s, and cooler than nighttime 70. It’s a welcome change!

Thanks so much Donna! And yes, I actually did buy the Distant Drums roses at our Trader Joe’s! They were part of their “garden roses” offering. I bought some of the rest at a wholesale flower mart. Hope the heat fades quickly, but we are fortunate that the evenings are cooler, aren’t we?
August 17, 2020
Oh my goodness! One of your prettiest EVER! That combo of the peachy roses with the deep magenta dahlias is wonderful! These florals don’t look like they’re from Trader Joe’s, and I’ve never seen them carry ‘named’ roses. I have a Distant Drums rose in a pot waiting to be planted, one of my favorites! I’m wondering where you got your flowers. I’ve heard there is a flower market in Mission Viejo now, but I haven’t visited yet. Would love to know your source! The heat has been awful, but we are lucky that our evenings aren’t so bad.

Breathtakingly beautiful Lidy. The blue firkin filled with amazing blooms makes for a beautiful arrangement. You have accessoried beautiful with the napkins, mustard colored caddy, and lovely quilt. A touch of autumn for sure.

Thank you so much Jenna. Autumn is my favorite season, I love everything about it. These colors just boldly proclaim the upcoming season don’t they? Wishing you a beautiful day!

Simply beautiful!

Breathtaking Lidy! I love love what you chose to combine summer and fall, the yellow sunflower, burnt orange alstromeria, the deep reds of the dahlias, and pale peachy pinks of the roses, they all go together so beautifully! The casual bucket and pairing of figs and apples really adds a welcome fall touch. It looks beautiful sitting on the cozy quilt with pretty napkins…my very favorite part is the fountain grasses, so graceful and lovely! Thank you for the beautiful eye candy today!

Lidy, autumn is my favorite season and I anxiously await her arrival. The firkin is just fabulous filled with those glorious jewel toned flowers. I love dahlias…this is my second and last year to grow them. They just don’t do well for me, the insects eat the leaves and the blooms. Sorry, I digressed. The quilt covering is a perfect addition for transitioning into the fall season. I adore figs with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of goat cheese. I will look forward to your recipe. I also love to make the old-fashioned fig preserves. I love your perfectly French table and it is always a pleasure to join you for Monday Morning Blooms. Wishing you a joy-filled day xoxo

Be still my heart Lidy!….the arrangement of gorgeous flowers is magnificent and speaks to the last days of summer. I must say that your firkin stopped me in my tracks…I am so loving your beautiful draped table of so many Fall inspired beauties…so happy that those napkins are back in stock as they are wonderful and I love mine that are similar. Figs are certainly beautiful and a former neighbor/friend had a huge fig tree and they did not like figs…just the look of the leaves, so it was available for the picking. Thank you for your beautiful French floral inspiration today…you are making me want to find a table and create one too. Lovely, lovely to join you today for lots of flower and French love!

Swoon Lidy! Autumn is my favorite season too and I cannot wait for her to arrive. Your vignette is magazine-worthy from your mix of autumnal blooms with the addition of feathery fountain grass, blue vessel, wonderful quilt, monogrammed napkins and handsome armoire. We love figs and have to fight the birds for them as they ripen. Thank for my dose of fall this morning. I hope Mother Nature cooperates and it lasts longer than 20 minutes this year. ;) So happy to joining you for some flower therapy today, Happy Monday. <3
