WELCOME!
I'm so happy that you have joined us today
for a special 4th of July Edition
of MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS!
Independence Day is just around the corner,
and to celebrate our beautiful country and summer entertaining,
we're sharing flower arrangements to inspire you!
If you love to celebrate the fourth by entertaining outdoors in our beautiful summery warm weather –
I’m sharing a light and casual outdoor drinks and dessert station
set up on my potting bench in the back garden.
We just opened our container of garden antiques from Europe for the shop,
and this petit enameled can just asked to be filled with summer flowers!
{Not originally a watering can, this was used by the maid to bring boiling water
to the bedrooms in the morning and evening for washing.}
I kept the flowers very simple
a variation of red, white and blue for this
patriotic flower arrangement.
For a little pop of red, I cut a few red geraniums from
the planters behind our seating area.
I bought chamomile at the flower shop -
it lasts a long time in water and has such a "wild" summery country look!
Our hydrangea at FrenchGardenHouse have started to bloom,
so I snipped off just three flowers.
{Shhhhh... don't tell my head gardener, he's not a fan of that!}
This potting bench is right in front of our orange trees
and for this European girl, it's still a miracle to have fresh oranges
growing right in our own garden! It still fills me with wonder!
This is a favorite spot to set up a drinks station
or in this case, a champagne and dessert bar.
The blue French champagne bucket holds glasses,
and a bottle of French champagne decorated with the French flag.
Nothing says summer more than fresh fruit
I found these lush, ripe peaches at the little farmer's market stand in town.
They look so enticing on the red and white enameled cake stand, don't they?
Our chunky linen checked red & white napkins are a just right
with the checked plates and bowls, don't you think so?
Blueberries add a bit of blue.
The French lollipops are arranged in a 19th century French garden urn.
After gifting these to clients over the years, and so many requests
you can now buy them for your own celebrations at FrenchGardenHouse!
Even though it's still a little ways off
I hope this gives you some inspiration for your own Independence Day Celebration!

It’s always a pleasure to share anything with YOU, sweet friend. xo

Thank you Bonnie! If the weather is co-operative and it doesn’t get extremely hot, this is where we will be on the 4th! xo

Cindy, thank you! That sign is something I bought when we first moved here 25 years ago, it’s not a great piece or anything, but I do love it! Thank you for joining us today!

Kari, since our home is on the smaller side, I have to use every single space when entertaining! And luckily, our weather is usually very cooperative. Bananas!! Now that is something I would love to grow, but not sure that we could. xo

Lidy, I held off on expressing how much I enjoyed Monday morning blooms, I am going to add a little red, white and blue to my home as well. Always so much flower inspiration! I also had a feeling that the new summer reads would arrive in the post. Thank you so much for the opportunity and Kristy Woodson Harvey for joining you in this generous give away. Much appreciated. Thanks again!

Lidy, I adore this post. Your arrangement is perfect in the enamelware pitcher. It is so cheerful and makes one smile. Also, love the French champagne bucket and well, actually everything in the post.
ps. Today is hubby’s birthday and the dining room table is set for dinner. The Annabelle Hydrangeas are the showpiece as they are in the Antique French Apothecary Jar, purchased from you. I will do my best to take a photo for you. It is really gorgeous full of hydrangeas. I thank you.

I didn’t realize I needed Fourth of July inspiration until I saw all these gorgeous pictures. They’re all beautiful and certainly have inspired me. I think I fall in love with blues and reds all over again every July but those peaches show that other colors add a zing to the table too. Thank you for all the hard work put into these inspirations!

Thank you – the geraniums actually have a long stem, and look really pretty for a pop of color!

Oh la la Lidy, I love this red, white & French garden setting! I have never used geranium cuttings in an arrangement, can’t wait to try that! I love how you’ve mingled your French background with American in this wonderful champagne and dessert station, and it’s so inviting with the fresh fruit and casual red & white accessories, Lovely!

This is a picture perfect French twist on a patriotic setting & arrangement. I love it all, Lidy. It’s so relaxed and casual and welcoming. The watering pail is unique (love learning original purposes to things!), and the chamomile is the perfect addition to the arrangement, as are the peaches to the station. Summer at its best!
ps love the lollies too!

Lidy, I adore your potting bench and the way you have set it up for dessert and a drink. The colors are striking and are ready for any patriotic celebration. I have always loved red enamel ware as well as blue and green and…well, you get the idea. I love the oranges and used to have a orange and grapefruit and papaya (still have bananas) trees in my SW Florida Secret Garden.
Have a great week.

Lidy love the enamel filled with flowers and the potting bench set up for the holiday. Love the rustic sign hanging too. You always have wonderful pieces.
Have a great start to your week.

LIdy, I love your patriotic Monday Blooms post. Your vignette of red enameled plates, lovely textured checked
red and white napkins, checked bowls, striped runner and darling little white enamel pitcher full of summer blooms is a striking refreshment celebration for July 4th.
Your oranges hanging on the tree in the background are delightful. I’ve never known that luxury! Your potting bench with your amazing collection of antique watering cans is enviable.
Have a lovely 4th of July celebration. God bless America.

Lidy, what a lovely potting bench set-up with drinks and dessert! Th enamel can filled with garden flowers is summery and perfect for entertaining in your beautiful garden with yes, an orange tree! The fruit looks so lush…fresh blackberries and peaches! I think a cobbler might be a good idea! The enamelware dishes add just the right touch for a patriotic spread. It is always a pleasure to share Monday Morning Blooms with you!

Hooray for the red, white and blue and potting benches! I have always loved your potting bench and you have so gloriously adorned it with the fruits and flowers of Summer! Oh that orange tree…as a child, we always had many various citrus trees in our yard in South Florida…although we love oranges, the key lime was one of my favs too as when they became ripe, we kids knew that Key Lime Pie was on the menu!…Love the sweet flowers in the wonderful enamelware pitcher…truly says summer….I discovered how beautiful Chamomile is for a wonderful summer bouquet. French Lollipops….I can personally attest to their deliciousness! Don’t know what is better, the wrapper or the lollipop…they are both winners! Happy, happy to join you for Monday Morning Blooms…it’s one of my favorite days spending time with my fabulous flower friends!
June 17, 2019
Lidy, I have potting bench envy! It is SO festive pulled into service as a cocktail and dessert station for entertaining in the garden! I would love to join you for a glass of bubbles and stroll around your garden…there is so much to love here that speaks to my garden-girl’s heart. Your petite enamel can filled with flowers, (love the addition of cheery chamomile!) red enamelware dishes and checks, collection of sprinkle cans…As always it’s a treat to start my Monday with my flower loving friends. Long May She Wave! <3

Mary, potting benches are more than just for potting! I’ll be honest, this one is MY potting bench, it’s really just for “show” – the “other” potting bench belongs to Mr. FGH and is in the side yard, it’s where the real work gets done. : )
