Make This for the Holidays | Boule de Fromage
BouledeFromageFGH Do you love to try new recipes for the holidays? I like to live dangerously, and make at least one thing I've never made before when guests come. But don't worry, this recipe isn't one of those. My new "go to" recipe for every holiday party, this appetizer is easy, delicious, elegant and more. This gorgeous boule de fromage {cheeseball in French} was served at the Harsey & Harsey Showroom at the Laguna Design Center where I went to hear Bunny Williams speak. We couldn't stop eating it, it is so good! Walnuts You can use a bag of walnuts, or get fresh walnuts and crack them open. I've also made it with pecans, it's fabulous either way! If you are adventurous, you can add some curry, or another spice you love. I serve this with a combination of whole wheat and gluten free crackers. Elegant, especially when served on a beautiful plate with a small antique French silver knife; top it with a few sprigs of rosemary for a festive look. DesignerCheeseball Boule de Fromage: Ingredients: 2 pkg. cream cheese, softened 4 green onions, chopped 1 cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese Some grated pepper for a little kick 1 cup coconut {unsweetened is best} 1 cup dried cranberries 1-2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts, divided {Use 3/4 cup for mixture; reserve the rest} How To: 1. Mix all together in a large bowl. 2. Form into ball, I've found it's easiest to do this with your hands, after you slightly wet your hands with water. 3. Roll in the remaining walnuts to coat the sides and top of the ball. 4. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate until firm. Place on serving plate, then pour one jar mango chutney or Apricot or Peach jam over the top of your cheeseball. I meant to take a photo of the last one I made, but forgot, and then, once our guests discovered it, it was gone before I could clink our champagne glasses for a toast! I've found that this is better if you make it the day before. Let me know if you adore this as much as I do! Follow me on INSTAGRAM for more Holiday Inspiration.

Hi Donna, actually I use the dried. I used up all my dried cranberries and needed to have something for the photo. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi, question you show picture of fresh cranberries but ingredients lists say dried cranberries.
Which do you use? Would think fresh cranberries would be better.

It was such a treat to hear Bunny Williams speak. She is not only so talented, she is extremely nice, and she is inspiring, she shared where SHE gets her inspiration from. I had a wonderful time speaking to her after her talk about our business, her latest fabric designs, her new gardening book {bought it for Mr. FGH} and more.
