WELCOME TO MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS!

Today, Mary, Pam, and I are sprinkling some Thanksgiving inspiration your way! 🍂 We are delighted to be joined by our dear friend Sarah, from Hyacinths for the Soul. I'll share their links at the very bottom of this post.

Thank you so much for your visit today. I'm sharing a very easy Thanksgiving table setting with a few antiques mixed with new pieces set for my book club friends. I hope you'll get inspired to host your own Thanksgiving party that's memorable not just for its beauty, but also for the love and friendship that it celebrates.

An Intimate Autumn Meal with Friends

Happy November friends! To celebrate the beginning of this month, I set a Thanksgiving themed table for my bookclub. Do you belong to a book club? I love books, and I love gathering friends, so I began a neighborhood bookclub this year. We have great fun, discussing books and sharing a dinner together.

The More is More Approach.

Not a minimalist, I love the more is more approach! Go ahead and mix your antiques with your new pieces, if you love it, it makes for a personal, incredibly interesting table setting.

No pomp and pageantry required, just a table draped with love, a favorite vintage length of fabric, and a simple meal cooked with care. The richness of autumn is reflected not just in the vibrant colors but the warmth of friendships old and new.

Rich autumn table setting for Thanksgiving

Revealing a simple, yet charming table setup—rich in autumn colors and filled with love. With vintage bakelite silverware, antique plates on the plate stack along with new pottery plates, and pumpkins both real and velvet, it's all about sharing a sweet meal with friends. And the best part? It's easy to recreate!

Antique French Limoges plates for Thanksgiving

Feel free to mix it up! The plates are centered on new in-expensive gold chargers for a little added glow and presence.

A stunning flax linen napkin with embroidered pumpkins add a touch of autumn to each place setting.

Antique transfer plates in white and green touched with a hint of gold are a good complement to the rich colors of the table covering. I printed each book club friend's name on beige paper for a place card. Antique little goblets hold a pumpkin now, I'll serve some shrimp in them when dinner begins, nestled in a little bit of cocktail sauce on the bottom.

The Floral Centerpiece

Flowers in autumn colors of russet, orange, and green together with seeded eucalyptus fill and antique cast iron urn. I put the urn on an antique mirrored table plateau for some added height, and the way the mirror sparkles.

A velvet pumpkin and a few of our small wrens are good company to the urn.

A few almost dried hydrangea from the back garden and a few branches of leaves add more autumn color to the centerpiece.

Mix your metals. Antique brass candle holders have pumpkin colored taper candles - especially when the evenings are getting darker earlier, but really any time - candles make every dinner special.

It's okay to show some age. I adore this antique stoneware bowl. It has chips, aging, and signs of being loved and used for over one hundred years. It's wonderful filled with some of my velvet pumpkins, their texture is amazing, and they have real stems.

A festive holiday cocktail is a fun way to begin your dinner. I love this easy Holiday Pomegranate Cocktail, you can make it with champagne or with sparkling water as a mocktail.

Make a thanksgiving cocktail

HOLIDAY POMEGRANATE SPRITZ

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Mixed Berry Juice
  • ½ cup Pomegranate juice
  • 1 750ml bottle of Champagne or Prosecco. You can use flavored sparkling water for a mocktail- I look for a berry or lemon flavored one.
  • ¼ cup fresh pomegranate seeds {arils} for garnish
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1-2 sprigs of fresh rosemary for garnish for each cocktail - they look really festive like that!

How To:

  • In a large pitcher, mix together the juices and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Before serving, add the Champagne or Prosecco and mix.
  • Place a few blue berries, the pomegranate seeds {arils} and a sprig of rosemary in each glass. Pour the cocktail mixture in and enjoy!

Lidy, I am so sorry I am late to comment. As always, your tables are exquisite with beautiful antiques and a mix of new. I remember that fabric on your table and almost purchased it years ago, I have always loved it. I know your book club enjoys coming to your home where an elegant table is set. The Pomegranate Spritz sounds delicious.

It is always a pleasure to join you for Monday Morning Blooms. Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving season!

Lidy, as always it is a pleasure to be at one of your tables. How lucky your book club friends must feel! I like the simplicity of the name tag across the plate stack, and yes, I’ll have one of those delicious pomegranate spritz. I delight in the way you effortlessly mix your beautiful antiques on your tables. As one who loves the sport of collecting, seeing your posts is validation of my own collecting habit. Your gold Arte stems are gorgeous. I only have a set of four in the amber color. Always on the search for more of this retired pattern. I love the mix of hydrangeas and the orange alstroemeria. It’s such a soft but eye popping look. Thanks for inviting me to your table and for having me join for this month’s Monday Morning Blooms. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the book club dinner.
