 I'll try not to babble on about the amazing linens I got for me FrenchGardenHouse {you!} too much, but honestly? okay...never mind, I'll talk about those later. They are luxurious, gorgeous, and actually made in France.

 For those of you who have visited me here for a few years, you know that every Easter, we host an Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt. Can I just say F U N ?? Selfishly, I invite who ever will come, especially if they have small children. There is nothing I love more than to see little ones with their Easter baskets in tow peering through the garden flowers looking for their eggs.

Even though we have the Brunch, that doesn't actually start until 12:30. So obviously we have to eat breakfast early that morning, to get our energy for the day. Because. #SettingoutallthoseEastereggs.

 It's usually just John and I for Easter breakfast. So let's talk about this table setting for the two of us in the very early A.M. This is my trial-run, so just pretend the champagne glass is filled with champagne, or a mimosa, not just apple juice, okay? {Trust me when I say if I opened a bottle of champagne, this post wouldn't get done. I am a very light drinker, as my friends will attest to.}

My best tips for setting a beautiful, personal table:

Here's where you just have to be brave. Setting a beautiful table isn't so difficult, use what you love, use what you have and it's okay to be a little quirky!

 Let's look at how I set this table:

1.Mix it Up.

For this table setting, I mixed antique French plates with new pieces. French linens with an English flow blue centerpiece. Stripes with a stunning Chinoiserie pattern. See what I mean?

There are no rules. {except not to wipe your mouth with the tablecloth, use the napkins, please}

 I actually love using pieces from different centuries, and countries. The charger of this place setting is an unbreakable blue plate that looks amazingly real! We use those outdoors for bbq's and summer time, but they work just as well layered here with the antique French plates, non?

2. Change Location.

Since I set up the kitchen table where we usually eat the night before as the buffet table for the brunch, I placed the little round table in the living room, in front of our big French windows.

 If you have a beautiful dining room, use it! But sometimes it makes sense to set up a table for guests somewhere else. Your huge entry hall. Your library. We've even had a dinner table in the living room before, in front of a roaring fire in winter time. For this early Easter breakfast, the living room window area was my first choice.

The bonus is that for the brunch, I'll leave the floral arrangement, and cozy the table up closer to the windows. It's the perfect place for a drinks station for the adults!

3. Combine Prints.

Do stripes go with Yellow & Blue Chinoiserie? I think so! Since we just received our shipment of French Bee Linen Napkins in s t r i p e s {!!love!!} I thought why not try it. Your table setting should showcase your own personal taste, and this one fits the bill for me.

 The napkins have an embroidered Napoleonic Bee on the front, which was hidden when the napkin was placed under the top plate, but isn't it pretty?

 3. Add Fun.
Every table should have something fun, or unexpected. In this case, since ahem...we will probably have eaten a fair share of Easter candy while filling up hundreds of plastic eggs for the hunt, a little place card is perfect. I made mine by using this adorable watercolor bunny you can download for free from Dani of Silver Pennies.  {Her bunny is wonderful all by himself, me, wanting to make him fit my Blue & White theme plopped him in an image of one of our antique tea bowls in photoshop.}

 That's it! A lovely mix-it-all-up table setting for Easter breakfast.

I'm sharing a few shots of the serving table, too.

 It's easy to set up a small buffet for breakfast. On ours, we have bagels, home made raspberry jam, and blueberries.

 Just before sitting down, I'll add scrambled eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit on the plates stacked underneath the antique French compotier holding the bagels. Since we're having a brunch later, we don't need an extensive breakfast menu.
