BEST FALL PECAN PRALINE POPCORN
Now that fall is truly here, I want to share this delicious popcorn with you! Sweetened with brown sugar, and tossed with sweet cream and butter and a sprinkling of chopped pecans. You can thank me later.

It's the best fall popcorn, ever!

When we first moved to the states when I was a little girl, one of the most wonderful things I begged my Mom to make on our Friday nights at home was popcorn! Being from Europe, at that time popcorn was not something Europeans ate. But I loved it at first bite. Since then? I've owned every popcorn maker imaginable, and love nothing more than a good book and a bowl of popcorn. Don't blame me if you make this when you are all by yourself! I suggest making it o n l y when you have someone else to eat it with. I've served this at very "posh" parties, and sent each guest home with a bag. Some of our guests are quite spoiled in the "party favor" department, but each of them was thrilled to get a delicious home-made gift to take home! It's a little gesture that everyone loves, not too many people have the time to make gourmet snacks to gift! INGREDIENTS (makes 8-10 cups)
  • 8-10 cups of popped popcorn (no butter, lightly salted)
  • 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup chopped pecans {I've used walnuts in a pinch, but pecans are better!}
DIRECTIONS 1. Make the popcorn and place in a large bowl. 2. In a small sauce pan combine the brown sugar and butter and melt together on low heat. When the butter has melted into the sugar bring the mixture to a boil. Add the heavy whipping cream, whisking it in to the butter and sugar mixture. 3. Once this mixture becomes a "sauce" remove from the pan from the heat and add in the chopped pecans. Stir together until the nuts are well coated. 4. Add the pecan mixture to the popcorn and mix gently until the popcorn is completely coated. 5. Serve immediately or store in a sealed container for a day or two. {trust me, it won't last that long.} This popcorn is addictive. For a beautiful hostess gift, bag this up in cellophane bags, tie with a seasonal ribbon, and attach the recipe on a tag. Layer in an antique French basket, a French wooden trug, or an antique French bottle carrier and add a bottle of wine or champagne. You will be the favorite guest of all time! Happy Fall!
