Paris is home to some of the best coffee shops in the world! Here are a few of our Favorite Coffee Shops in Paris.
If it wasn't wonderful enough exploring all the little streets in Paris, stopping at our Favorite Coffee Shops in Paris along the way for a delicious cafe au lait or espresso, and pastries. {calories? No, they don't count in Paris...because you will be walking all day!}
Sitting in a petit cafe will give you the feeling of the city - where you can soak up every moment of being in Paris. On buying trips, we have coffee several times a day, most little local places serve breakfast and lunch, too.
It seems every corner has a place that serves coffee, there are plenty of options, but I prefer the smaller local places rather than the more well-known "grand cafes."
If you are in Paris, plan your day around a few stops at one or more of these Favorite Paris Coffee Shops!
1.BOOT CAFE
This quaint cafe in the Marais was originally an old shoe repair store, the original shopfront is still intact and testifies to its history. The word “cordonnerie” still appears at the top of their wooden façade, but you'll find wonderful coffee and treats there, not boots. It's the smallest cafe in Paris, but has plenty of charm! They don't accept credit cards, cash only.
FIND IT:
19 Rue du Pont aux Choux
Paris
2. PEONIES
The first Coffee and Flower Shop in Paris! They had me at the name {you too?} and flowers. I mean. French Parisian flowers, right? The owner purposely sources unusual flowers, in exceptional shapes, colors and condition for her one of a kind bouquets and arrangements.
They focus on fresh food, delicious coffee, and environmentally ethically grown organic flowers. The flowers are incredible. The food too. You can even take a floral arranging class there!
FIND IT:
81 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis
Paris
3. OB-LA- DI CAFE.
How can you not be happy when the very name of this cafe is a song you'll be singing in your head all day? For a wonderful, healthy breakfast {I suggest the avocado toast or yoghurt with berries - or both! } prepared by a friendly, caring staff, this is the place to go. Afterwards you can walk around the wonderful Le Marais streets with intriguing little shops. NO better way to begin a day in Paris!
FIND IT:
54 Rue de Saintonge
Paris
4. DU PAIN ET DES IDEES.
Hands down the best place to try special baked pastries in Paris. Du Pain et Des Idees has specialties that you will remember long after your last bite. Owned by baker Christophe Vasseur, who quit his job to follow his passion for bread, the baked goods produced in this 19th century Parisian bakery are exceptional. Chocolate "escargot" {chocolate-pistachio rolls}, apple chaussons {apple slippers}, orange blossom brioche and their pain des amis have no rival.
FIND IT:
34 Rue Yves Toudic
Paris
Not open in the weekend.
