AUTUMN ENTERTAINING | HIBISCUS TEA COCKTAIL

This gorgeous cocktail is delicious, low in sugar, and under 100 calories, too! How fabulous is that?

One of the main ingredients is Hibiscus Tea. Yes, you read that right!

I took this shot of Lisa holding a Florentine tray filled with cocktails, so pretty.

From the AUTUMN ENTERTAINING SERIES that Lisa of DeliciousTable and I collaborated on for our {meaning all of you, Lisa's and mine} autumn entertaining {Thanksgiving too!} pleasure.

Lisa created these skinny Hibiscus Tea Cocktails to be low carb, vegan, and gluten-free. And it's delicious, refreshing and festive, too.

Hibiscus Tea is supposed to have many health benefits too, relief from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, calming to the digestive and immune system, and helps with inflammation. Even better, right, a cocktail that actually does something a little good for your body. A win-win! I'll admit that I'm not much of a drinker, these cocktails are perfect for me to serve. I just add a very tiny little bit of the alcohol to mine, and my friends can enjoy a "real" cocktail. HIBISCUS TEA COCKTAILS Created by Lisa Torres of DeliciousTable.com Makes 4 Cocktails. INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 hibiscus tea bags {Tazo brand- Passion herbal tea has hibiscus, orange peel rose, hips and passion fruit}
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • organic liquid stevia drops {a healthy calorie free-zero carb sweetener made from the stevia leaf}
  • 1 shot of vodka per cocktail {Tito’s is gluten free, and 100 calories per 1.5 oz shot}
  • sparkling mineral water {zero calorie Perrier, La Croix etc}
  • squeeze fresh lime or lemon juice
  • garnish: oranges slices {fresh or dried}
  • ice
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Make your concentrated Hibiscus Tea: place 4 tea bags to 2 cups boiling water, let steep for a minimum of 5 minutes or until tea is cool. Make a concentrated tea: place 4 tea bags into 2 cups boiling water.
  2. Once cool, put ice in a glass, add 1 shot vodka {a gluten free brand}, a couple splashes of the tea, a squeeze of lime, 5-7 drops liquid stevia, then top with lime sparkling water, and stir.
  3. Garnish with a slice of orange, or thin lime slices, or rosemary stem and cranberries

These cocktails sound delicious,Lidy! I’ve truly enjoyed this series and the wonderful recipes. I’m hoping to make gifts of the Palmiers at the refrigerated dough stage, wrapped in colorful plastic wrap, tied with a pretty ribbon. Then they can be sliced and baked by the lucky recipient as desired ??
