Lidy, I so enjoyed your blog on displaying and loving the antiques & collections we have displayed in our homes. I have been a collector for over 30 yrs. My collections range from the “Farmhouse to the Precious to me” categories. My childhood home was barren of collections. My family history is that of Farmers. Berry, Vegetable. & Floral crops. My mother’s health & our family’s finances & education didn’t allow us to experience the finer things of life. With that said, I am now a Collector! I Collection Ironstone to Silver items, boxes to old books. Collections, expensive or not provide a feast for the eye that makes “My Home” express a “Heartfelt Warmth” to all who enter. I say to all who enter “Welcome to Our Home” and may our hospitality reflect the warmth of our hearts. Thank you, Lidy for sharing some of the finer collectibles of life and making this reader feel welcome in your home.

Thank you so much for your visit, Leanna! I love antiques, and collections {so much so that I opened my shop FrenchGardenHouse.com to sell them.}

You have some beautiful collections, Gloria, that some of them remind you of special people is a huge bonus. Isn’t it wonderful to think about the women who used your cups and teapots before you? I love that so much about antiques, their stories of their past.

You have a gorgeous collection of meaningful pieces. Everything is so pretty and beautifully displayed. Very pretty post to read.

I love my napkins, I always use them when I have a tea or special meal. I also love the silver top perfume bottles my mother-in-law gave me. I display as you have on my bedroom dresser along with miniatures I collected over the years.
I have a small collection of teapots and cups and saucers that are in my glass front cabinet. they bring a smile to my face and a moment of wonder to think about who used them before and who made them. Your collections always stir those thoughts when I see them.

These are such wonderful tips. Collections are so important in creating a beautiful home. They tell a story and offer such insight to the people who live there. Lidy, you always have such beautiful things, and I am swooning over the beautiful collection grouped on the blue and white platter. That is such a gorgeous statement!

You are such a great collector, love those little porcelain boxes. So adorable. I imagine it’s hard to sell them in your shop
when you find some treasures.

Lidy, your collections are beautiful. And you have created art in the way you have them displayed. Thank you for this lovely post, you have brought to my attention something I need to do better, as I too am a collector of too many things. Mainly teacups, teapots and blue and white transferware. But, I will tell you that you have certainly caught my attention with the dear vanity table jars and their silver lids.
Have a beautiful day!

Thank you so much, Kathleen. I love that you have curated your own “heirlooms” to display. No one says that the beautiful things in your home need to be handed down from family. You can begin a whole new “heirloom” collection for your family, and leave those to your children and love bugs!

Ohhh Lidy! You are a master of curating & displaying beautiful treasures! Your collections are magnificent! How fortunate you are to have some family heirlooms as well! I’ve none of those, however, I’ve created a few collections of objects I love and I do so enjoy them as I display them! Beautiful collections add so much interest to a home, I can’t imagine my home without them! As always, this article is such a treat… I love to see your magnificent collections as much as I love to read your words of wisdom, beauty & grace! Well done my friend! ???

Alice, I love oyster plates too! I was so fortunate to buy an estate collection not too long ago. They’ll be making their appearance sooner or later on FrenchGardenHouse. For now, I’m enjoying all of them. Happy weekend to you, Alice!

Thank you Sue, I’m drawn to your favorites {ok, and a few more!} Hope you have a happy weekend!

Always love the different ways you display your lovely collections. I’m drawn to linens, anything toile, ribbons, and small individual silver (restaurant) tea pots. =)

Oyster plates. Beautiful ones can be found in New Orleans much to my delight. They are expensive however buying one at a time, over time allows one to have a nice collection. I have an oil painting that needed a specific color to go with it. Of course I found exactly what I needed in New Orleans. I thought hubby would faint when I chose three. When I hung them over the painting he understood why I longed for them. Enjoyed this post Lidy. Great instruction.

Dear Jo, how fortunate you are to have inherited lovely pieces from your parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents! I love that you keep them “out” so that you can enjoy them every day. xoxo

Dear Lidy, I really love this post. I have been so lucky to have received so many lovely items that were from my parents, grandparents and great grandparents, so seeing some new ways to display them is great. My favorite is the shadow box with the silver napkin rings. It’s unique as well as gorgeous. I love to have my keepsakes out and to share them with others. Thank you for the inspiration!
xoxo Jo
