Embrace the Richness of Autumn Table Setting

Immerse yourself in the embrace of autumn by celebrating the very essence of the season. Capturing the warmth of the season and the comforts of home, a dinner party with friends or neighbors “just because it’s fall!” is the perfect way to step into this new season’s splendor. This ‘Embrace the Richness of Autumn Table Setting’ does just that!

Welcome to Monday Morning Blooms! Pam, Mary and I are so thrilled you are here. We are joined by our dear friend Sarah, from Hyacinths for the Soul. You will want to see all of their October floral beauty, I’ll share the links at the end of this post.

flowers for fall

Autumn is my favorite. The rich colors, the warm spicy hues, the textures..I love everything about it! For this table setting and floral design, I wanted to showcase a rich gathering in the comfort of our home.

Embrace the Richness of Autumn Table Setting

Right off our master bedroom is a small seating area with doors that lead to the garden. While enjoying the autumn garden by the warmth of the fire table with our guests, it’s a great place to set up a small table to serve one of the courses of the meal.

Mushroom soup will be the first course, and the flatware and napkins are stored easily in this vintage painted cutlery box. We’ll eat our soup by the fire outside, then move into the dining area for the rest of our party.

The colors for my table are inspired by the antique paisley I used for the first layer of this setting. My grandmother had a favorite paisley cloth when I was a little girl, I love the colors and all the patterns! Each time I use mine it reminds me of her, her home was everything loving and cozy to me as a little girl.

Limoges Soup service

French Limoges porcelain soup bowls and serving dish have classic gold and white, embellished with autumnal floral bouquets.

The flowers were gifted by a neighbor, a bouquet of red russet roses, black-eyed susans, sunflowers, wax flowers, and yellow pincushion ‘Leucospermum’ – with eucalyptus and hydrangeas from the garden.

Delicious Apple Cider Cocktails are served in an antique glass decanter. Antiques on your table not only serve as functional pieces but also as conversation starters, each with its own captivating backstory.

I’ll share the recipe for the apple cider cocktail further down} they are wonderful with or without alcohol.

French Country table setting

A lover of entertaining in all seasons, I often say {with a wink} “I’ll dazzle you with flowers and candles, and will serve even take-out with a smile on an antique plate!”

“Pale amber sunlight falls across
The reddening October trees,
That hardly sway before a breeze
As soft as summer: summer’s loss
Seems little, dear! on days like these.”

Ernest Christopher Dowson

A few pumpkins and leaves together with the last of the hydrangeas make the mantel look like autumn. A grouping of antique brass candlesticks and fall candles add a warm glow.

Our chestnut linen napkins are tied up with spice velvet ribbon, aren’t they such a beautiful color?

Apple Cider Cocktails

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups filtered 100% apple cider {I use organic}
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Honeycrisp apple, sliced with the skin on
  • ½-1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • Garnish: apple slices
  • Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey if making cocktails

Make It:

In a small but heavy pan, combine cider, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, apple slices, and pumpkin pie spice.

Cook over medium heat until heated through, about 10 minutes {don’t boil}.

Garnish with apple slices.
