For a touch of French elegance that feels right at home in your gracious dining room, this early 1900s Limoges cabinet plate is especially charming. With a beautiful floral design of pink and yellow roses, surrounded by a most unusual hand painted border in bright cerise pink. Made in Limoges, France, by Tressemann & Vogt, it has both the red and green T&V factory marks on the underside. Its romantic decoration combines stencil work, hand-painted pink roses and soft green foliage. Luxury quality porcelain, the flowers are highlighted with hand painted enamels, the elaborately embossed, scalloped rim, finished in glowing gold, adds richness and refinement.

The intricate gold decoration was applied by hand in the T&V workshops using 22-karat liquid gold or fine gold paste. This labor-intensive finishing technique enhances the raised, embossed details, giving the rim its beautiful depth and brilliant golden finish. Display it on a plate stand in your dining room, add it to your collection of French porcelain, or bring it to the table when entertaining. The combination of rose pink and gold brings a gracious touch to a sideboard or dining table, making even an everyday setting feel a little more special. In good antique condition, with some areas of gilt wear revealing the pink color underneath along the rim. Very detailed and expertly painted, extremely rare color to find!

Collector’s Notes.

Tressemann & Vogt was one of the well-known Limoges porcelain manufacturers, producing the finest porcelain from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. The combination of red and green factory marks on this plate is consistent with a production time of 1907–1919.
