Huge Antique French Hand Painted Limoges Tray with Floral Bouquet in the center. Big, heavy trays like this are so rare to find, I spied this one at the brocante and fell head over heels in love. Made by Haviland & Co., Limoges, France, the mark dates it from 1888-1896. The artist signed his name on the back.
The tray features an elegant scalloped oblong shape, the center has hand painted flowers including French tulips, roses, bachelor buttons and other summer garden favorites. Expertly painted by hand, the tray is surrounded with a hand painted floral garland all around. Not perfect, the gilt detailing on one side is almost completely gone, I forgave this because of the gorgeous painting and the size.
