Antique Regalia Red Velvet Silk and Metallic Embroidered Collar 1800's
Details
Antique Regalia Red Velvet Silk and Metallic Embroidered Collar from the 1800's, I believe this is part of the International Odd Fellows ceremonial accessories. Founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1819 by Thomas Wildey, this is a non-political and non-sectarian organization for men and women. The IOF's mission was to improve the character of mankind, and to promote friendship, love, truth, hope, charity, and universal justice.
This collar is a beautiful older one, the outsides are embellished with silver bullion fringe, and the red silk velvet is embroidered lavishly with vines and flowers in matching silver thread. There is aging, and some of the silk velvet has worn a little as shown around the back collar, a few fringes are unraveling and or are gone as shown. Pieces like this are a wonderful accessory to display on antique mannequins to reflect your own personal and wonderful style at home.
