Antique Jean Pouyat Limoges Gilt Serving Bowl with Bow Handles
Details
Antique Jean Pouyat Limoges Gilt Serving Bowl with Bow Handles, made in France by Jean Pouyat around 1914. A beautifully scallop shaped bowl, with cut out handles on two sides topped with a glorious bow design. White porcelain with gold hand painted detailing, the rim has a delicate floral design.
Not for the perfectionist, and priced accordingly, there is an old repair to the edge as shown. This is such a sweet bowl I bought it anyway. Please only adopt if you can live with this repair, done so long ago by someone who loved this piece. Marked with an underglaze mark and an overglaze mark, the porcelain 'blank' as well as the hand applied gilt decorations were done in the Pouyat factory.
- Measures 9-1/2" x 8-3/4" x 2'h.
