The intricate details, from the delicate folds of her best dress to his tunic, pants and boots, their period attire and subtle expressions speak of the artistry and skill of the original sculptor. They are made of cast metal, then "cold" hand painted to resemble the warm rich patina of bronze.
Not perfect, his base is missing a portion of the garland swag, she has a small opening in the back of her skirt (not uncommon in these old pieces) and at one time I believe she was holding something in her raised hand, this is no longer there. Please only buy these two love birds if you love the patina and wear only the grace of time can give. Display them on a mantelpiece, a library shelf, or a grand foyer table to instantly elevate the ambiance of your home.
