Decorative Antique French Pince-Nez in Case, made in Paris, so wonderful to find! Found in France, the glasses come in their original leather covered case, with inside inscription of Optique Medicale, Gaultier & Bertin, Paris. One lens has a piercing meant to be fitted with a chain to wear around the neck by a jeweler.
Pince-nez reached their peak popularity around 1880. Fantastic to display on your stack of antique French books for your bookshelves, perhaps for a favorite antique French teddy bear? Good antique condition, I'm sure the glass has scratching but not to the eye, the case has wear but it has done a great job protecting the eye glasses!
