Antique French Country Wood Rolling Pin from Brittany, France. Hand turned, this is an authentic smaller sized rolling pin, used for rolling out pastry or cookie dough, and more in French patisseries. Made by hand so long ago, this early wood rolling pin was a prized possession.
So prized was it that after leaving it too close to the fire, the baker's partner filled in the handle with some kind of dark wood filler so that it could still be used. {That the baker promptly burned the other side too, must have caused some frustration!} A storied addition to your French Country kitchen, with a smooth exterior, imperfections that we cherish.
