Details

An antique French Country painted wooden work box or tote, made in the early 20th century, with a softly aged mellow green painted surface and great patina. Used in a French home, it served both a practical purpose—carried from room to room and/or used to organize and transport household items as needed. Its form reflects everyday domestic life, simple and purposeful.

Over time, the green paint has softened into layered tones and lovely wear, giving it depth and character. It has a distinctly Provençal influence, unpretentious, functional, and rooted in daily living. In your kitchen, it holds antique French silver, folded linen napkins, and fresh herbs. Complimentary U.S. shipping included.

  • Measures 10" x 9-1/4" x 5"h.
