Extremely rare to find, this large 19th Century French Opaline Glass Round Centerpiece Bowl, a fine work of art which displays beautifully. So exceptionally rare to find large size, with an elegant shape that is simply magnificent from every angle. The ocean blue Opaline color is exquisite. The fluted base holds the banded stem, the bowl has ribbed details.
Finding a large piece of original opaline glass is always exciting, this centerpiece compote is outstanding. One side has a small inclusion in the glass, for a very early piece of opaline this is excusable, please see the photograph. From a collector, this bowl will make a statement on its own, or filled with shells, flowers, or beautiful cookies at your most gracious table. What a find!
