One of the most beautiful antique French cutting boards I’ve ever found, this exceptional hand-carved board dates to the early 1800s. Hand cut from a single piece of beautiful wood, it has developed a wonderfully deep patina and a beautifully scarred surface from generations of use in a French kitchen. I especially love its unusual shape, with gently raised shoulders leading to the short handle. The handle has a small opening for tying a leather cord if you would like to hang it, although I think this beauty deserves to be left out where you can enjoy it.

The timeworn surface, knife marks, and rich dark color give it so much personality — exactly the kind of honest age that makes an old French kitchen piece special. Use it as a beautiful charcuterie board or an elegant cheese board when entertaining, indoors or out, or simply lean it against a backsplash or rest it on an open shelf. If you choose to use it, apply a quality food-safe board oil regularly to help nourish and protect the wood.
