FRENCH COUNTRY WATERING CAN FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

FRENCH COUNTRY WATERING CAN FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

I have a special place in my heart

for watering cans.

The older, the better.

This time on our MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS,

we are using a watering can as the inspiration for our florals!

If you came here via my floral friends Shirley, Mary or Pam -

W E L C O M E !

At the end of this post, please click on the links so you can see all the floral beauty

they created for this Monday.

Seeing a watering can reminds me instantly of three men I love most

My grandfather, my father-in-law, and Mr. FrenchGardenHouse.

Each one of them gardeners who love {d} their gardens.

I love watering cans that are chippy, shabby, painted and just plain zinc.

I love the "real" ones,

but also the smaller antique French enameled cans

that I am sure plenty of French gardeners have used for

a quick "emergency-my-pansies-are-drooping" kind of watering job.

For this very first day of setting an outdoor table -

{I'm so excited!}

I created a French Country table for spring,

I love the way the sunshine dapples through the leaves,

Creating playful shadows.

I'm using this little table for serving drinks,

and dessert.

Even the antique French wine basket gets a sprinkling of blooms!

Spring has been a long time coming

even here in Southern California.

How I adore this weather, and the birds singing their lovely songs.

For a very casual setting

I sprinkled a few of our antique blue enameled cans around the garden

FLOWER RECIPE:

Pink roses

Pink star gazer lilies

Dark pink ranunculus

Pink wax flowers

White fluffy chamomille

There is no trick to creating this type of arrangement

just cut the flowers at an angle, and put them in.

They'll do the rest.

The old cement bunny bench

Is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a glass of Lillet

and some berries.

I hope it's spring where you are!

or close to it.

Hi Lidy — I need to follow you so I don’t miss things! This is truly gorgeous. Oh, I am just WILD about your bunny tablecloth and the basket with the wines and blooms. Speaking of which, the arrangements are simply perfect. I do feel like I’m in a French garden.

I’m late coming over to thank you for coming to Marmelade Gypsy and leaving such a lovely comment on one of my Cotswolds posts. Life got weird but catching up!

Thank you Nancy, I hope your rainy days turn into sunny spring days filled with birdsong soon! xo

Mary, I locked Bentley in the house!! Unlike your sweet Lola, our big guy just thinks he needs to be the center of attention, and those berries? oh my, they just happen to be his favorite, they are his only weakness! {not really} It is such a pleasure sharing our Mondays, you inspire me each and every time my sweet friend. xo

Lidy

Thank you Pam, I so enjoyed your beautiful setting with the archway covered in that soft Lady Banks rose. It’s always a pleasure to start my day with YOU, too!

Lidy

Shannon, I would love it if you could, too!

Lidy

Thank you so much Rita. I hope spring is there, and that you are enjoying every single ray of sun!!

Lidy
