FRENCH COUNTRY WATERING CAN FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

FRENCH COUNTRY WATERING CAN FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

I have a special place in my heart

for watering cans.

The older, the better.

This time on our MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS,

we are using a watering can as the inspiration for our florals!

If you came here via my floral friends Shirley, Mary or Pam -

W E L C O M E !

At the end of this post, please click on the links so you can see all the floral beauty

they created for this Monday.

Seeing a watering can reminds me instantly of three men I love most

My grandfather, my father-in-law, and Mr. FrenchGardenHouse.

Each one of them gardeners who love {d} their gardens.

I love watering cans that are chippy, shabby, painted and just plain zinc.

I love the "real" ones,

but also the smaller antique French enameled cans

that I am sure plenty of French gardeners have used for

a quick "emergency-my-pansies-are-drooping" kind of watering job.

For this very first day of setting an outdoor table -

{I'm so excited!}

I created a French Country table for spring,

I love the way the sunshine dapples through the leaves,

Creating playful shadows.

I'm using this little table for serving drinks,

and dessert.

Even the antique French wine basket gets a sprinkling of blooms!

Spring has been a long time coming

even here in Southern California.

How I adore this weather, and the birds singing their lovely songs.

For a very casual setting

I sprinkled a few of our antique blue enameled cans around the garden

FLOWER RECIPE:

Pink roses

Pink star gazer lilies

Dark pink ranunculus

Pink wax flowers

White fluffy chamomille

There is no trick to creating this type of arrangement

just cut the flowers at an angle, and put them in.

They'll do the rest.

The old cement bunny bench

Is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a glass of Lillet

and some berries.

I hope it's spring where you are!

or close to it.

I’ve always been a fan of zinc watering cans and you have showcased yours beautifully with lovely flowers. I love the antique blue enamel can too. It is one of the prettiest I have seen. Your flowers are charming. The vignette on the bench is so inviting as is your table set with refreshments. I would enjoy sitting in your garden visiting with you. Your post was a treat this morning.

Your flower recipe is perfect, Lidy! The alfresco setting with dappled sunlight and chirping birds that are reminiscent of Provence is so lovely for the first day of April. The bunny bench, be still my heart, sets the mood for a peaceful respite after perhaps working in your garden. You have created such floral beauty in your French watering cans. It is always a pleasure to start my day with my MMB friends. Wishing you a week of loveliness!

All of your gorgeous pictures would make beautiful paintings. Wonderful to look at on this rainy Monday morning.

Lidy, I have a special place in my heart for watering cans too. Antique English or French watering cans are my favorites but harder and harder to come by. I do love thinking about who might have used them in their gardens before me. I adore your alfresco table! So perfect with the dappled sunlight and set to enjoy your spring ‘bird-chirping’ weather. Your bunny bench is wonderful too! The only thing I’m missing from your idyllic setting is Bentley. :) Thank you for the beautiful start to my week. I always look forward my Mondays and some flower therapy and my MMB friends.<3

Ah…I can hear the French music whispering in the wind in the back yard oasis at the FrenchGardenHouse….what a way to start off the first day of April than to see the beautiful floral inspiration of Springtime of my Monday Morning Blooms friends! I love all of your recipes, however, the flower recipes have to be my favorite! You know how much I love your vast and beautiful collection of French watering cans and how beautiful they are filled with the most lovely collection of flowers. I have often thought if Chamomile would grow in the South…I shall ask my southern MMB friends. :) I must say that I smile from ear to ear when I see that most adorable bunny bench! Have a most fabulous Monday Lidy!!
