Can words describe the fragrance of the very breath of spring?
Neltje Blanchan
As you can see, the borders are filling in nicely. The Rose of Sharon next to the fountain is still bare. Can you spy a rope on our deck? {that line crossing behind the umbrella pole} we've had such high winds here that Mr. FGH felt it necessary to tie down one of our new little trees until the winds die down. In the photo just above, you can just make out a little bird feeder. I didn't crop it out, it's become such a source of joy to see the birds joyfully fluttering around eating a full tube {!} daily.A flower blossoms for its own joy.

What a surprise to find such a huge variety of flowers at the market this time! I couldn't help myself, I bought the long blue Veronica, the blue Larkspur, a mixed bouquet of blue Hydrangea, pink Roses, lavender Stock and little Wax flowers. Added to some leafy eucalyptus, it made this big spring bouquet. I cut the stems, and arranged the whole big bunch in an antique French ironstone pitcher with blue thistles all over - I love it! The table is set with an antique French blue and white striped ticking, and my favorite blue and white Paisley tablecloth. In the photo below, you can see how we {and by we I mean Mr. FGH.} staked out the sweet climbing rose, New Dawn, on the side fence. It's just beginning to leaf out, and we are hoping fervently that it will do well in this spot. Ever since we were first married, it's a rose I coveted for our garden. We finally found a variety that is supposed to do well here in Southern Calfornia. I'll keep you posted! Our smaller enameled plates are perfect for an outdoor lunch or snack, and the sturdy linen napkins with a soft grey stripe are always a favorite. I carried the wine outside {what is a French Country type of al fresco meal without some wine?!} in an antique French market basket, along with some bread from our local bakery. Here you catch a glimpse of the border along the back fence, the green is beginning to cover the wood, I think in one more year it will be a whole wall of green again. There isn't all that much else to show in the garden right now. But the sun was shining, and I thought we'd all like to see some sun and flowers together today!Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.
Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this brief glimpse into the garden, where spring is trying, really trying, to break through. I love this scripture. It is a reminder of God's blessings, and that we don't have to worry our way to a beautiful life. {sorry the text is a little wonky. Because we just launched our Spring Collection, I haven't had time to fix it....we've been so busy shipping on the daily. Thank you!} Let's soak up the blessings of spring! I hope the sights, smells, and sounds of this new season bring life and hope to you. Whether it’s a walk on a sunny day {wearing a coat, or not} or running through puddles during an unexpected rain shower, let's relish in spring, and its new beginning! I hope you visit my dear floral friends, and soak up their flower therapy too. Just click on their links!and me, LIDY at FrenchGardenHouse.

Love everything about your post and Pam’s. Especially the scripture needed so much in our world today. I hope your New Dawn rose will cover your fence. Your garden will be filled with such a fragrance And so beautiful. I could see the rope to keep the tree upright and the raised garden is filling in beautifully. The arrangement is Spring in a vase. I must go to see if our local grocery has these beauties,

Lidy,
I love the encouragement of the hope of spring! I also love the beautiful floral arrangement with the various blue flowers and a touch of pink! So inspiring! I will be very interested in seeing how your garden grows. Thanks for sharing that! Most importantly, I love that you share scripture with your posts, I mean after all, if it weren’t for Him ( the Creator), we wouldn’t even have flowers, nature, or any of the other good things He blesses us with.

California is particularly beautiful in Spring! Lidy, your landscape renovation is looking beautiful as it fills out. Just seeing the green leaves peeping out on the Rose of Sharon gives me great anticipation for what’s to come in our region. I love your floral arrangement and all the elements on the table. Very California, very French, very March!

Such a breath of fresh air this morning to see your garden and beautiful flowers. I’m loving your antique blue and white floral pitcher and blue paisley tablecloth. I have a new blue and white floral pitcher about the same size and it looks garish next to the soft and rich patina of your pitcher.
You find the prettiest flowers in Southern California. How nice to go to a market and find fresh Veronica, blue larkspur, dainty wax flowers, and roses, stock, and hydrangea. I would feel like heaven having a flower market to visit.
Your floral arrangement and styled table in your lovely garden were delightful. I enjoy the birds fluttering about too.
Blessings today, my friend.

Lidy, your garden has a great start and I can’t wait until it is blooming. It is the perfect spot for alfresco dining. Your floral arrangement is so beautiful and you had great success in finding stunning blooms. I can just imagine how delightful it would be to sit in the California sunshine and watch the birds.
It is a pleasure to join you at table for Monday Morning Blooms. Happy first day of March!

Lidy, What a beautiful spring bouquet in your blue and white pitcher! I love the mix of blue, purples and pinks. . .it looks like it could have been freshly picked from your garden. I know you’re looking forward to your garden bursting into bloom with your newly planted rose and trees. What a wonderful and relaxing spot to enjoy a meal or sip a drink while watching the birds. Our bird feeders require refilling every other day but they have a lot of help from the squirrels. :) So happy to join you today for some flower therapy! I hope you birthday celebration was wonderful. <3
