Home Tour |Southern Author Kristy Woodson Harvey
KristyWoodsonHarvey Welcome to Kristy Woodson Harvey's Home ! I'm so excited to share Kristy's home. Kristy, the Southern author, wife, mother, blogger {and so much more} whose book Lies and Other Acts of Love I reviewed in the post before this one, is a Southerner through and through, a North Carolina girl who loves all four seasons – especially fall in Chapel Hill, where she went to college and summer in Beaufort, where her she spends every free moment. Kristy believes in candles, flowers, moldings and music and using your fine china every day. That beauty for beauty's sake adds pleasure and fullness to life. Harvey Home 109 Everything in her home is light, bright and airy. White walls, light curtains, neutral furniture pieces and stunning gold accents make this a living room I could move right into! I love the zebra patterned chairs too. Using neutrals allow every unusual accent piece Kristy and her husband have selected for their home to really be an amazing focal point. Harvey Home 048 Shelves filled with a collection of shells, coral, and fun turtle shells accented with stacks of books, so appropriate for an author's home, make a beautiful focal point of this built in bookcase. Paying great attention to the small details is Kristy's forte, notice the coral gilt handles on the drawer. Harvey Home 113 Bleached wood begere chairs upholstered in neutral linen make for a great place for family and friends to gather and talk. The seashell chandelier is a charming focal point, and that pop of color of the paintings are a perfect accent. OfficeKristyWoodsonHarvey I love this table and ghost chair, it's a perfect place to work in the bedroom, yet it doesn't feel too "desky" or take up too much actual nor visual space. A shell covered box is displayed with great style, its also a perfect place to keep paper and pens, and other desk necessities. Furry rug underfoot? Perfect for bare feet, which given the Carolina weather could be an almost constant from spring through early fall. Harvey Home 121 Kristy has a knack for using neutrals in her home to their best advantage. The all white bedding is such a cool, relaxing look. Imagine how wonderful it would be to sit in the hanging chair reading a great book? And then there is the fireplace. I'll admit, I have always wanted a fireplace in our bedroom, and bought a mantel for it in Europe one year. {It's still in storage, but fingers crossed, I'm hoping it will be reality this year!} This fireplace is beautiful! Kristy blogs with her Mom, Beth, at Design Chic about interior design. Harvey-Port-65 1- ReadingLiesandOtherActs Thank you so much, Kristy, for sharing your beautiful home with all of us! Beautiful! I especially like the tranquil bedroom….with that fireplace at the foot of the bed…I’d be “working” from bed often! ;-)
