We are thrilled to have our dear friend Bonnie join us today! {I love it when we have guests - even more flower fun!!}
Sunflowers are a wonderful flower to transition from summer to fall, their sunny yellow rays and warm brown centers can instantly lift anyone’s spirits. Cheerful and happy, they're instant mood adjusters, aren't they?
For a little happy flower inspiration, we're all celebrating the sunflower this Monday.
I bought two bouquets of sunflowers, along with a mixed bouquet at the flower market this week. Sunflowers always make me smile, especially at this time of year.
I want to be like a sunflower; so that even on the darkest days I will stand tall and find the sunlight.
On a sunny September afternoon, while setting this French Country table, I envisioned what this table would look like later in the afternoon, when the sun was waning. It did not disappoint!
Sunflowers have an exceptional kind of beauty, their sun-kissed golden yellow color is the perfect complement to the deep cobalt blue of antique flow blue plates. I set this table with an antique French hand woven cloth as a neutral back drop.
A stack {I know! I usually don't do stacks, but this time the top plate is for a salad course.} of antique flow blue plates at each place setting are a wonderful color combination with our new chestnut linen napkins.
Antique coin silver and French silver plated flatware adds a little gleam and glamor to this mostly country setting of Provencal colors, sunny golden yellow, deep blue and warm chestnut brown.
The antique stone fruits are one of my favorite "finds" this summer - I sprinkled them around this table for fun.
Advice from a sunflower. Be bright, sunny and positive. Know your roots. Spread seeds of happiness. Rise, shine and hold your head up high. Keep on growing. Even on the darkest days, stand tall and find the sunlight.

Happy September! Linda, thank you so much for your kind words. Sunflowers are always a sunny reminder to cherish each day, and each other, aren’t they?
Lidy, your table is so charming. I adore the Flow Blue plates and sunflowers together. The antique stone fruits are a lovely find. Sunflowers make us smile and always present a cheerful look. Thank you for your sweet visit. Happy September. xo
Oh I agree, Chloe, I love that quote from Helen Keller too. The sunny sunflower is a gift, and you are so right, a whole field of them is a wonderful treat.
What a lovely table! That cloth is so charming! I am especially moved by the quote from Helen Keller. To think that she could imagine the sunflowers and shadows without the gift of sight. What an amazing woman she became! Your sunflower arrangement is beautiful. I think there is perhaps no field of flowers as lovely as a field of sunflowers in bloom!
