A French Holiday

A French Holiday.... celebrate the season with a gathering of antique, vintage and reproduction Holiday pieces to create a holiday home you will love. It's easy to put together this gorgeous holiday display, inspired by French religious antiques. I love the old French cathedrals, and this is the perfect theme for your holidays, especially if you have a collection of French saints, prayer books, madonna statues and antique French ephemera. {they are one of our best~selling pieces, everyone seems to love them}
We love the old religious crosses, statues, crowns, and antique glass decorations, each time I'm able to find a few "new" antique treasures, it's thrilling to unpack the crates and boxes. I am so excited to show you a few of the pieces I bought for you for this holiday season! Some are old, some vintage, and some new, like these Santos, or Saint figurines. High quality reproductions, made of a heavy wood/papier mache combination, and hand painted, so each is slightly different and an original work of art. {last year we sold out of them so quickly, this year I ordered more for you!}
Don't replace everything in your home with holiday decorations, instead think about how you can let your collection star in your holiday decorating. Here, I mixed the reproduction Santos with antique glass Christmas tree ornaments, nestled in our Cobalt Blue Glass Caskets. An antique French "moral" book for children and an antique French Silk Beaded Frame with the Virgin Mary complete this look. I added a few reproduction ornaments like this French Air Balloon Glass Diorama for a fun finishing touch.
Display some of your French Tiaras or Saint's Crowns, together with antique French Prayer Books, a beautifully framed French Memorial, and a few ornaments and you have another stunning vignette.
I love to stack a few antique books to vary the height of a display, and just layer on little treasures. Little antique sheep. Frames. Missals. The ornaments that maybe don't fit on your tree. It's simple to just give your every day antiques a little holiday flair! What everyday treasures do you display at holiday time? Any tips or hints you want to share for beautiful, easy decorating? If you want to romance your Home and Garden with antique and vintage treasures to make you smile each time you come home, visit our shop FrenchGardenHouse.

Wonderful Holiday Vignettes!! I love it all!

For myself I no longer put up a tree, I simply bring out my favorite pieces, wreathes, garlands etc. Mix it all in! Even just switching out your candles to red, gold, or white makes a huge difference.
