6. Water for Elephants. Sara Gruen. Trust me on this. Even if you have seen the movie, get the book. The story of Jacob, an animal caretaker, and Marlena, a beauty who works in the circus. They have the love of an elephant in common, this is a captivating Great Depression era love story.
7. The Remains of the Day. Kazoo Ishiguro. Stevens, an aging butler has performed his job perfectly for over three decades, learns what love is all about in the twilight of his years. Romantic, this is a fine literary novel.
8. Moonlight Over Paris. Jennifer Robson. Lady Helena Montagu-Douglas-Parr flees to Paris, to shed her aristocratic title, and becomeMs. Parr. A beautiful description of Paris, the City of Light, and the story of Ms. Parr pursuing her life long dream of becoming an artist. Of course there is a man, Sam Howard, dangerously attractive.
