Spring…finally!

I don’t know about you…but I could do with some SPRING! Even here in Southern California, we have had a wet, soggy year so far. Cold. {for us here in California, anyway}

Even if the weather isn’t quite there yet, inside, it can look like spring. Change out the winter florals, pillows and other accents, and spring has arrived chez vous.  We are adding garden florals, little abeille votives and nests, eggs and all things spring to FrenchGardenHouse on the regular.

Oh, those glorious bright colors! They remind me of warm sunny days in the garden, sipping a little Lavender Lemonade, listening to the birds sing, or watching them take baths in the birdbath.

A few Nests here and there, some eggs, and really, even if you are in the snow{!still!} it will be Spring in your heart.

ps.  for all of you who have called and/or emailed, our special set of three tiny nests is back in stock. Perfect for marching down your mantel, dining room table or hiding under a glass cloche.

If you want to romance your Home and Garden with antique and vintage treasures to make you smile each time you come home, visit our shop FrenchGardenHouse.

    1. Vicki, England? or France? I think both have equal charms in spring.

  1. Lovely photographs. The little birds nests are adorable. I love the way you have photographed them too! Have a happy day, Linda x.

  2. Happy Wonderful Wednesday, Lidy! and Happy Spring!
    I, too, am soooo ready for nicer weather…it has been chilly here and we are supposed to get a little snow over the next few days…yuck!
    I keep going back to your beautiful home in Romantic Homes…I love that your vanity is in front of that window w/the beautiful view! and is you bed up on a platform?
    Have a beautiful day!
    ;-D Kathleen

    1. Hi Kathleen,
      Yes the bed is on a rounded platform…it’s quite fun to be a little higher than the rest of the room. Right now on the “down” part my husband has his office, but one day I hope we can have a fireplace and French chairs there in front of the built in bookcase.

      I’m still lusting after the perfect vanity, although now that I’ve seen Mom’s Sears sewing cabinet in the magazine, it actually is kind of sweet there.

  3. Karen, even here in Southern Ca, we are so ready for sun, birdsong and spring weather, right? It’s been a cold wet winter.

  4. what beautiful photos lidy! don’t feel bad about your wet & cold weather. we are bracing for a nor’easter tonight! can you believe all this goofy weather? xo chris

    1. oh my goodness, Chris, your poor garden! I know, the weather all over is beyond crazy, isn’t it? Sending you springy thoughts and wishes, xo Lidy
