Beautiful Estate Vintage Madeira Placemat & Napkin Set, in pristine white, this is a set for eight, with incredible hand embroidery and appliqué work on the sheerest organdy. Made in the first half of the 1900's, by the women of the Madeira. Each fine collectible organdy mat has a scalloped border hem all the way around.
The embroidery is enhanced by padded satin stitches, with lovely applique work Madeira embroiderers are famous for. The design features sweet flowers and leaves. Elegant, decorative and the prettiest way to set your table for guests. Add this to your collection of gorgeous heirloom linens. There may be a few pin pricks, I have pointed them out.
