Stunning Porcelain Half Doll, her hair in "Marie Antoinette" style with blue bow, she is beautifully hand painted, and has elegant features. Both arms and elbows away, she is holding a fan. Perfect for your collection, she had the back part of her bow painted long ago, you can feel a chip there, but hard to see. Her nose has a small rub too. Marked Germany 854, beauty!
Half Dolls have been cherished by Victorian and Edwardian Ladies, and those trendy Flapper girls as well. Acquired fully dressed and attached to clothing brushes, pincushions, and whisk brooms, or purchased undressed and costumed by their owners, thousands of these sweet little half dolls were made in the first two decades of the 1900's. Highly collectible, each one is a tiny treasure, a little work of art.
