Collector’s Notes.

Made by Superior Silver Plate Co., this teapot carries the history of one of America's established silver-plate makers. Superior Silver was a trade name associated with the Middletown Plate Company of Middletown, Connecticut, founded in 1864.

The company later became part of International Silver, with the Superior name continuing in use. For collectors, the combination of a recognized American maker and an appealing Art Deco form makes this a particularly charming example of early 20th-century silver plate.
