Antique Regency Staffordshire Pearlware Jug, Chetham & Woolley, Blue Jasperware Relief, c.1820–1830

This refined English Staffordshire pearlware pitcher or small cider jug was produced by Chetham & Woolley, Stoke-on-Trent, England, during the early Regency period, circa 1820–1830. Finished in a soft blue glaze and adorned with applied classical jasperware-style relief putti figures, and an ornate urn inspired by the neoclassical tradition. The petite scale gives the jug an especially charming presence.

The sculptural white figures stand in elegant contrast against the blue ground, creating a cameo-like effect prized by collectors of early English ceramics. Graceful in form, the pitcher features a curved handle, shaped pouring spout, and a gently raised foot, making it ideal for display in a vitrine, shelf grouping, or refined table setting. Pearlware examples by Chetham & Woolley are increasingly scarce, particularly in such well-preserved decorative condition.
