Early 19th Century Staffordshire Pink Red Transfer Plate Romantic Scenery

Early 19th Century Staffordshire Pink Ironstone Transfer Plate made by Ralph & James Clews,  in Stoke, Staffordshire, England in 1816. The pottery operated from 1815-1834. Most of their transfer ware was blue or black and white, but a few were this stunning color pink red. Surrounded by a lush floral border on a scalloped rim, the center is a romantic scenic view.

The design is called Sicilian Beauties and features a large garden, with a classic urn surrounded by garden flowers, overlooking a river. A sailboat drifts by, and the river overlooks large mansions and a castle in on the other bank of the river. A stunner for your collection. For a plate from the early 1800's, this has been well cared for by a collector.
