Antique Art Nouveau sterling silver hand mirror with ornate floral and scrolling repoussé work. Sourced in France, although since it's unmarked, we can't be certain where it was originally made. This substantial mirror is beautifully monogrammed with the letters T and C within the large central cartouche, and the handle is engraved with the date 1907, preserving a wonderful piece of its history.
This mirror has been loved for more than a century, and time has left its signature. There are a few small dents to the floral decoration, an impression to the monogrammed cartouche, and a couple of tiny openings in the intricate repoussé work where the silver has worn through over the years. These honest signs of age are part of what makes an authentic antique so special. They do not diminish the romance, beauty, or remarkable craftsmanship of this exquisite mirror. Instead, they speak to a century of careful use and the enduring appeal of an object made to be cherished. This doesn't bother me, but please only purchase this lovely old piece if you don't mind the patina that only the grace of time can give.
A wonderful size for your French vanity or dressing table, this romantic mirror is as decorative today as it was when it first graced the boudoir of its original owner. Rich in history, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance, it is ready to be cherished for generations to come.
