Antique Sterling Silver Evening Purse Compact Watrous Co. with Leather Interior

A beautiful antique evening purse that feels personal, elegant, and quietly full of history. This late 1800's sterling silver compact purse by the Watrous Co. has a presence you don’t often find anymore—especially with its original leather interior still intact. The front is decorated with an ornate floral repoussé design, soft and romantic, with the initials M L B engraved at the center, giving it that intimate sense of ownership from another time.

Inside, it opens to a surprisingly complete interior: one side with a mirror, the other a small leather pouch that still holds its original tiny round powder puff. the leather has aging as shown. The original chain remains attached, adding to its authenticity and charm. On the back of the mirror, there is a handwritten name—Jessie Ohman, Belleview, Nebraska—a quiet detail that makes this feel less like an object and more like something once truly carried and loved. Whether passed down or kept close, it carries that sense of personal history.
