A charming antique find from 1880, this Petrus Regout stick spatterware plate has the wonderful color and character that make early European pottery so irresistible. The cream earthenware is decorated with a cheerful garland of flowers, buds, berries, and leaves in a beautiful palette of cobalt blue, brick red, and green. Created using the stick spatterware technique, the pattern was applied by hand using small sponge shapes dipped in color, giving the design its lovely movement and individual charm.
