Exceptional, this is an astounding handkerchief or a "pocket square" meant to be shown off, rather than useful. Made of tiny precise and rare to find bobbin lace made in Malta, the lace is fine, such a luxury! The Maltese cross is evident in the ornate lace. The center is a small piece of cream silk, around which the lace maker has spun her magic with her bobbins.
Finest quality, there are a few areas of broken brides, and a tiny dark spot on one pointed end. The fact that this remains in this condition is a miracle. Dates to the 1800's, this is heirloom lace that will grace your collection, these are almost impossible to find!
