Antique Hand Carved Black Forest Glove or Jewelry Box with an intricately hand carved rose floral top. No doubt a special Grand Tour souvenir, this is a beautiful example of wood worker's skill, it's a spectacular floral bouquet. Not perfect, the top is stunning, upon close inspection I believe there may be a tiny leaf missing from the top, and a few little edges. The front has a small piece missing on the left side of the key hole, please see the photos.

The silk lining remains in somewhat good condition, meaning it isn't shredded to bits like they usually are. I have left it in, but it could be removed if you wish, it's simple for you to replace with your favorite silk. I wanted you to see it just as it came to us from France. The hinge has been re-attached on one side. A marvel of the woodworker's hands, boxes like this are getting more rare to find, we can't keep them in inventory when they are as pretty as this. No key.
