Antique French Shellwork Box with Pin Cushion 19th Century

I couldn’t pass this one by—a beautiful little 19th century French shellwork box, covered in softly colored shells in shades of pink, apricot, yellow, and warm coral. The top still has its original pin cushion, which I always love to see. The silk is worn and a bit shredded now, but that’s part of what makes it special—it’s a true survivor, not something that’s been “fixed” or made to look new.

Inside, the original bright pink paper lining is still there, and it’s such a lovely surprise when you open it. That contrast between the delicate shellwork and the vibrant interior makes this feel even more personal, like it once held small, meaningful things. A few of the outlining shells have run away, but I don't mind that, please only buy her if you don't either. I’ve left everything exactly as I found it. If you love antiques with a bit of age and story, this has a quiet charm that’s hard to replicate.
