Step into the elegance of early 20th-century with this Théodore Haviland Limoges oyster plate, made in France exclusively for the luxury emporium S.& G. Gump, San Francisco. This plate is always a great favorite for me to find, it has an off white background which allows the hand sponged gold and decorative design in gold and green show up beautifully. There are five wells around the central condiment well, enhanced with gilt sponged detail.
Five oyster wells surround a central condiment well, combining functionality and refinement. We have mulitples, one plate bears the original Théodore Haviland Limoges mark from 1903, while the others are marked for Gump. Minor traces of use—slight gilt wear and a small chip on the foot of the marked plate—add historic character. Display it or use it; it will be the star of your collection.
