Antique French Limoges Haviland Mayonaise Serving Bowl

Graceful and romantic, this Antique Haviland Limoges Floral Mayonnaise Bowl is a lovely example of fine French porcelain from the late 19th century. Made in Limoges, France, it features delicate hand-painted florals in soft blue, aqua, brown and green tones, framed by gently scalloped edges and accented with subtle gilt sponged detailing. Made between 1888-1896, and decorated by Haviland, it has both the manufacturing as well as the decorator's marks.

Though this does not have an underplate the bowl is a stunning example of Haviland artistry and timeless French refinement. There are remnants of hand painted gold accents to the inside of the bowl as shown. A charming piece once used to serve mayonaise, sauces or condiments at an elegant French table, it displays beautifully on its own, filled with blossoms or as part of a Limoges collection.
